Percy Jackson will continue his battles, as Disney+’s hit show Percy Jackson and the Olympians has been granted a third season before even its second one debuts in December 2025. This is wonderful news for the series on Disney+, one of the few to achieve immense popularity for the Mouse House’s streaming platform since its launch. The platform officially confirmed this with an enchanting Instagram video and press release filled with excitement about the upcoming seasons.
Disney has announced that the upcoming third season of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” will be adapted from the third book in the series, titled “The Titan’s Curse“. Since the initial release of the series, it has resonated strongly with readers of all ages. With the second season set to air this December, fans can look forward to more adventures in Percy’s journey. Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, expressed excitement about the continuation of the story, praising the talented cast and crew, partners at 20th Television, and producers for their dedication to bringing Rick Riordan’s world to life with such depth and creativity.
As a dedicated movie fan and proud Percy Jackson saga enthusiast, I can hardly contain my excitement as we venture forth into another chapter on Disney+. This third season is uncharted waters for our storytelling, breathing life onto beloved characters such as the Hunters of Artemis and Nico di Angelo for the very first time! It’s a testament to Disney’s commitment to our narrative, reflecting the fervor with which fans have welcomed this TV adaptation. A heartfelt thank you to all demigods across the globe – may we continue to share in the magic of these mythical tales together!
Good Things Come To Percy Jackson In Threes, It Seems
I’m thrilled to share that the upcoming Season 2 of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is inspired by the second book in Disney Hyperion’s highly successful series, aptly named “The Sea of Monsters“. As a fan, I can’t wait to delve into the new narrative as described in the official synopsis:
A year after Percy Jackson’s initial visit, he comes back to Camp Half-Blood only to discover his life flipped around. His bond with Annabeth is evolving, he discovers he has a cyclops sibling, Grover is nowhere to be found, and the camp is under attack by Kronos’ troops. Percy’s quest to restore order will lead him beyond known territories and into the treacherous Sea of Monsters, where the destiny of Poseidon’s son remains shrouded in secret.
Enthusiasts of the novels and book series have been eagerly anticipating for a while that more of Percy’s world would be adapted beyond the first two books (which have thus far been depicted in films and this TV show). One fan on Instagram exclaimed, “WE BROKE THE 2 BOOK CURSE 🔥👏” while another wrote, “WE’RE GETTING NICO, ZOE AND RACHEL. STAY CALM STAY CALM. WE’RE GETTING THE APHRODITE SCENE STAY CALMMMMMMMM”. It is evident that the fanbase has been eager for Percy’s entire story arc to be shown on-screen, and their enthusiasm is tangible.
It seems they’ll need to be patient for at least another year (possibly even longer) before the third season of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” appears on-screen. Currently, we only have a vague release date of December 2025 from Disney for this “darker and more mature” Season 2. The cast includes Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn, and Daniel Diemer. Developed by Rick Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg, the show is executive produced by Steinberg, Dan Shotz, along with Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, Craig Silverstein, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Bert Salke, Jeremy Bell, D.J. Goldberg, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Albert Kim, Jason Ensler, and Sarah Watson.
