Gal Gadot’s Walk of Fame Ceremony Becomes Flashpoint for Israel-Gaza War Protests

On Tuesday, during Gal Gadot’s star unveiling on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a scuffle broke out among protesters seemingly due to someone taking an Israeli flag, sparking the disagreement.

Gal Gadot, an Israeli actress who has made it big in Hollywood’s elite circle with her iconic role as Wonder Woman, was recognized by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce at a ceremony held at 11:30 a.m. The actress, who will be appearing in the upcoming wide release movie “Snow White,” has sparked controversy amidst the Israel-Gaza conflict due to her vocal advocacy for her native country.

On Tuesday, close to where Hollywood Boulevard meets El Capitan, individuals expressing varying viewpoints regarding the Israel-Hamsas conflict gathered to voice their opinions. A clip shared online by TMZ shows a moment when it seems a supporter of Palestine is pursued by two others after apparently taking an Israeli flag from someone at the scene.

A person is spotted dashing swiftly along Hollywood Boulevard in the exciting video, dodging spectators as they’re chased by two others. In a matter of moments, the chasee is seized by one of the pursuers, who grabs them by the shoulders and guides them aside.

One police officer shouts, “Step aside!” as multiple officers wearing LAPD uniforms hurry towards the commotion and begin pushing those involved roughly up against a wall. Amidst the chaos, a voice cries out, “Keep your hands off her!”, but it’s difficult to determine who the speaker is addressing.

On Tuesday afternoon, a representative from the LAPD’s public relations team informed The Hollywood Reporter that no one had been taken into custody and that the altercation was simply a matter of law enforcement managing the crowd during the event.

Previously, Gadot has talked about her roots as a native Israeli and shared that her grandfather was the lone survivor of his family during the Holocaust, eventually settling in Israel. Before embarking on her acting journey, she completed the mandatory service in the Israeli Defense Forces, as required by the nation’s military laws.

During the revealing event, Gadot was presented by director Patty Jenkins and her “Fast” series colleague, Vin Diesel. By her side were her husband, Jaron Versano, and their quartet of daughters – Alma, Maya, Daniella, and Ori.
