Notable figures such as Hugh Jackman, Rachel Brosnahan, and Liza Koshy are planning to participate in Global Citizen NOW – an event aimed at mobilizing efforts to eliminate severe poverty worldwide.
The event, happening at New York’s Spring Studios on April 30th, offers a lineup of announcements regarding policy initiatives, engaging discussions, impact awards, and other notable moments. This high-profile occasion is backed by prominent partners such as Authentic Brands Group, Bridgewater Associates, Cisco, Delta Air Lines, PayPal, P&G, and Verizon. Attendees are expected to include influential figures from government, policy, advocacy, the private sector, media, entertainment, and philanthropy.
At Global Citizen NOW, awards such as the Global Citizen Prize and Cisco Youth Leadership Award are given to recognize young leaders worldwide who have made remarkable strides in positively impacting their communities. This segment will be hosted by Koshy, with notable personalities anticipated to join as presenters.
As a gaming enthusiast, I feel privileged to be part of this summit. It’s about taking big dreams and making them real by gathering enthusiastic, dedicated, and innovative minds to address the world’s toughest issues head-on. I can’t wait to ignite discussions, honor the change-makers, and, most importantly, make a significant difference for communities across the globe.
With multiple pressing issues mounting globally, doing nothing is simply not an option, emphasized Hugh Evans, the co-founder and CEO of Global Citizen. I’m incredibly pleased with the global growth of Global Citizen NOW, but what truly excites me is another installment of our original summit – the one held in New York City – which has consistently served as a platform for daring action and lasting change, as we work tirelessly to achieve our mission.
The current co-chairs of Global Citizen NOW are Jackman, Brosnahan, Pedro Sánchez (the president of Spain’s government), Hans Vestberg (chairman and CEO of Verizon), Wyclef Jean, André Corrêa do Lago (designated as COP30 president), Nir Bar Dea (CEO of Bridgewater Associates), Amy Bonitatibus (chief corporate affairs officer at PayPal), Patrick Achi (former prime minister of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire), Alicia Tillman (chief marketing officer at Delta Air Lines), Volker Türk (United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights), Ralph Gonsalves (prime minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines), and David Moinina Sengeh (chief minister of Sierra Leone). Put simply, these individuals include actors, heads of state, CEOs, and human rights leaders.
