In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter about completing filming for an upcoming movie shot overseas, Elizabeth Olsen was asked if she’d be sticking around the U.K. to film the next “Avengers” installments. She replied:
Affirmative! I’ve returned to the United States. I’ve completed “Panic Carefully.” Now, I’m transitioning to film a TV pilot titled “Seven Sisters” on FX.
It appears that Olsen has refuted the notion of filming both “Doomsday” and “Secret Wars”, stating she won’t be shooting them at Pinewood Studios in the U.K. soon. If she’s engaged on a different project abroad, it seems logical to think Wanda isn’t involved. However, I’m still skeptical about this claim.

In the finale of Doctor Strange 2, The Scarlet Witch appeared to give up her life to obliterate the Darkhold across all realities and seek redemption for the terrible acts she committed throughout the film. However, considering how beloved Elizabeth Olsen’s character is among Marvel Cinematic Universe fans, it felt inconsistent with her story arc to conclude in such a manner. And many of us were skeptical about whether she had truly disappeared.
The security measures at Marvel Studios are exceptionally strict, and actors are usually advised to evade, evade, evade when speaking to media to safeguard the secrets of their interconnected universe. A prime example is Andrew Garfield who kept up a charade for months about reprising his role as Spider-Man in No Way Home.
Elizabeth Olsen has been portraying Wanda Maximoff since 2014 in the film “Avengers: Age of Ultron”. This means she’s had a ten-year stint trying not to spill Marvel secrets. It’s plausible that her recent statements about not returning for “Doomsday” and/or “Secret Wars” could be misleading, perhaps she was just pretending. It has been speculated that Wanda might play a significant role in future Avengers films, allegedly using her magic to create an alternate reality similar to Doom’s universe. However, as these projects are not yet on the 2025 movie release schedule, it seems likely that the studio is choosing to keep its plans under wraps for now.
