The Fast and Furious movie series, known for its numerous unexpected developments, is hinting at yet another twist before the 2026 release of Fast X: Part 2. In this anticipation, lead actor Vin Diesel suggests a potential setup leading to the grand finale. Starting in 2001, the Fast and Furious tale has expanded across various platforms such as films, spin-offs, television shows, video games, and short movies.
On his Instagram, Vin Diesel hints that a new installment of the ongoing Fast & Furious series might be coming before its finale next year. Fans may remember that the short film “Los Bandoleros” (directed by Diesel), included as a bonus feature on the Blu-ray version of Fast & Furious 4, served to bridge the story between the first and fourth movies. It seems that Vin Diesel is planning to direct another prequel, set in an exotic location this time around.
Reminds me of a pivotal instance from the Fast and Furious series, when we completed work on the fourth movie… The studio then requested that I direct the predecessor, serving as a bridge between the first and fourth films to show where Dom had been. This prequel was titled Los Bandoleros.
Previously, I was asked to oversee a production that serves as a prelude to the final act. Given that it has become a global story, I feel inspired to shoot in a unique and captivating location instead.
There’s no clue yet about the topic or purpose of the upcoming preview for Fast X: Part 2, nor do we know where or when it will be released. It could potentially be part of a special Fast X edition, shown in theaters before Fast X: Part 2, but that’s speculation at this point. As for Los Bandoleros, which was approximately 20 minutes long, we anticipate that this new teaser might match or even surpass its length.
