As the 2025 Formula Drift season begins, Toyota has unveiled three new models in their GAZOO Racing (GR) series: the Yuzu Edition of the GR86, the MkV Final Edition of the GR Supra, and a camouflaged Development Vehicle version of the GR Corolla.
The GR86 Yuzu Edition, a special edition limited to 860 units in North America, takes the lead. This model, inspired by the Japanese yuzu citrus fruit, sports a lively yellow exterior finish. Inside, it boasts black Ultrasuede seats adorned with yellow accents and pairs them with matte black 18-inch wheels. The performance is amplified with standard Brembo brakes and SACHS dampers, ensuring both improved handling and the preservation of its well-known playful character. Optional extras include a GR-branded cat-back exhaust and an aero body kit. Under the hood, you’ll find a 2.4L boxer engine producing 228 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque, compatible with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.
GR Supra MkV Final Edition (North America)
Following this, Toyota commemorates the heritage of its iconic sports car by introducing the GR Supra MkV Final Edition (North American version). This unique model, marking the conclusion of the fifth-generation Supra’s production in Spring 2026, boasts a fine-tuned suspension system, larger Brembo brakes, improved body strength, and sharper aerodynamics due to a carbon fiber spoiler at the rear and front wheel arch flaps. Under the hood, it houses a 3L turbocharged inline-six engine producing 382 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque, enabling a 0-60 mph sprint in just 3.9 seconds. In Fall 2025, a GT4-style package inspired by Toyota’s racing victories will be available, featuring matte paint options and race-inspired accents. Offering both manual and automatic transmissions, it also incorporates advanced technologies such as Adaptive Variable Suspension and Intelligent Manual Transmission programming.
GR Corolla “Development Vehicle”
Completing the group is the GR Corolla “Development Car,” which remains disguised but has been generating interest. Noticeable improvements include fresh fender and hood vents, a movable rear spoiler, and subtle indications of aerodynamic and torque improvements. Although Toyota is holding back on detailed specifications, the vehicle is undergoing final adjustments and is expected to be unveiled this fall, assuming approval from Akio Toyoda.
