SpinCo Names Senior Communication Execs At MSNBC, CNBC

Prior to the planned separation of its cable TV channels by Comcast, SpinCo took on several new employees for communication roles.

Lauren Skowronski has been appointed as the Senior Vice President of Global Communications for CNBC, following her role as the Senior Director of Communications at Snap Inc. Previously, she held the position of Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications at NBCUniversal.

Richard Hudock has been elevated to Senior Vice President of Communications at MSNBC. He started working with NBC News in 2018, based in Washington, D.C., and since then, he’s spearheaded press initiatives for key events such as the midterm and presidential elections, debates, and the debut of multiple shows.

As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share that I’ve learned Comcast is planning to separate its cable TV networks (excluding Bravo) along with certain digital platforms such as USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY, Golf Channel, Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, and SportsEngine. This separation, which doesn’t include Bravo, is anticipated to be finalized this year. Mark Lazarus has been appointed as the CEO for this new venture.

Diana Rocco recently assumed the position of Vice President for Internal Communications within SpinCo, following a 12-year career with NBCUniversal where she held diverse roles in corporate communications, advertising, partnerships, and MSNBC.

Holly Tracz was appointed as the Vice President of Media Relations for SpinCo, following her career start at MSNBC in 2015. In her latest role, she oversaw communications for MSNBC’s daytime and weekend shows, digital platforms, and live programming.

All four hires will report to SpinCo chief communications officer Keith Cocozza.

In a recent internal memo, Cocozza shared that SpinCo is just getting started, but things are already picking up speed as they define their organizational structure and devise innovative collaborative methods. This forward momentum is becoming more visible, and I’m excited to share four new appointments within our communications team who will play a crucial role in sharing the evolving tale of who we are and our future direction.

He added that their role would involve collaborating with various departments within the organization to shape and solidify our brand presence, contribute to defining and fostering our corporate culture, and aid in achieving the objectives of our brand as a whole.
