However, believe it or not, he was actually written off after his first movie! Yes, you read that correctly. In a recent interview, the Dostana actor shared this surprising fact.
Speaking with IANS, John Abraham reminisced about being dismissed after his first film. He attributed his comeback to sheer determination, stating that he returned even stronger. The actor of Vedaa emphasized that he doesn’t dwell on his professional past, which is why the initial setback did not faze him.
The actor emphasized that it’s crucial for people in the film industry and viewers to be aware of one’s past work. However, personally, one should always move forward, focusing on what lies ahead, as that is what the audience will observe.
John acknowledged that many individuals often remark to him that he isn’t just a ‘single-faceted’ actor. His films encompass a wide variety, from Garam Masala to Force to No Smoking. He conceded that he has tackled numerous genres, and this versatility is what truly counts. “Am I proficient in every aspect? No. Am I improving with each film? Absolutely. I learn something new from every movie, every director, and grow as a result,” the actor concluded thoughtfully.
Recently, John Abraham appeared in a film titled “The Diplomat.” This movie was a political thriller directed by Shivam Nair, who has previously worked on Special OPS and Mukhbir-The Story of a Spy. The script for this entertaining production was penned by Ritesh Shah. It was based on the true story of Indian diplomat JP Singh. In addition to John Abraham, the film featured an impressive cast including Sadia Khateeb, Kumud Mishra, Sharib Hashmi, Revathy, Ashwath Bhatt, and others. “The Diplomat” premiered in theaters on March 14, 2025.
In terms of his career, John Abraham is set to appear in an upcoming political-geographical suspense film called Tehran. This project will co-star Manushi Chhillar and be produced by Dinesh Vijan.
