PAN Records and Nike Present “The Suspended Hour” at Milan Design Week

Following the emergence of official photos earlier this week, PAN Records and Nike have seized Milan Design Week to reveal their shadowy collaboration. The blackened Air Max 180 model embodies PAN Records’ profound musical legacy, replacing conventional medial swooshes with a streamlined, sophisticated design.

According to Bill Kouligas from PAN Records, the Nike Air Max 180 isn’t just an ordinary shoe; it serves as a cultural link between innovation and artistic expression. For us at PAN, this model embodies the ideal blend of technical finesse and avant-garde aesthetics that resonates with our experimental electronic music philosophy.

Making its first appearance, PAN Records and Nike journey to Milan Design Week for a unique event. Dubbed “The Suspended Hour,” this immersive experience delves into PAN’s rich music background by offering spatial audio encounters, inviting you to explore the electronic music archive of this record label. As it progresses from “Anticipation,” through “Discovery,” to “Euphoria,” then “Twilight,” and finally “Solitude,” “The Suspended Hour” offers a dynamic glimpse into endless club nights, merging interaction with the experience.

As a gamer traversing the vibrant cities of Athens, London, and Berlin over the past 16 years, I’ve learned that creativity blooms at cultural crossroads. Each city has etched its unique mark on my outlook, providing me with an unparalleled perspective to tackle design conundrums. Instead of viewing borders as barriers, I see them as bridges linking diverse thought processes and creative methodologies.

This reimagined version of the Air Max 180 by the duo allows you to dance through the night, complementing your club-appropriate style flawlessly. The collaboration seamlessly transitions between rhythmic beats, incorporating black mesh uppers, a transparent glaze, and motifs inspired by Greek mythology. As Kouligas explains, “The Air Max 180 encapsulates what we stand for at PAN — daring design that challenges limits while maintaining accessibility. This sneaker, like our brand, fuses experimentation, technical advancement with artistic flair, resulting in a creation that is striking yet relatable on an emotional level.
