Epic Predator Animated Movie Reveals Vikings, Samurai, and WW2 Battles Coming to Hulu

Hulu has revealed a sneak peek at the upcoming animated film titled “Predator: Killer of Killers“, an innovative anthology project that will showcase three distinct stories about warriors from various time periods, each facing off against the fearsome extraterrestrial hunter known as the Predator. Directed by the filmmaker behind “Prey“, this new production maintains the series’ tradition of placing the Predator in different historical eras. The animated movie includes segments set during the Viking age, feudal Japan, and World War II. Although the “Predator” franchise is slated for a cinematic comeback later this year, “Predator: Killer of Killers” will premiere as an original film on Hulu, following in the footsteps of “Prey“, which debuted in 2022.

20th Century Studios unveiled the initial teaser for the movie titled “Predator: Killer of Killers” and confirmed its name. The trailer presents three combatants battling various Predators throughout different eras. Josh Wassung is co-directing “Killer of Killers“. This animated compilation will premiere on Hulu on June 6, 2025. Take a look at the video below to experience the beautifully animated intense combat scenes.

2025 is the Year of the Predator

2025 marks a significant milestone for the Predator series, with “Predator: Badlands” set to hit theaters on November 7, 2025, following “Predator: Killer of Killers”. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who was also involved in the previous film, “Badlands” will introduce a new era for the franchise with Elle Fanning as the first Predator protagonist. There’s buzz that the Predator could make an appearance in FX’s upcoming “Alien: Earth” series, hinted by some fans who claim to have heard the classic monster’s distinctive clicking sound in the trailer.

In October 2024, whispers about the film titled “Predator: Killer of Killers” surfaced. This was because Trachtenberg had been secretly working on a new Predator movie alongside Predator: Badlands. Initially, it was suggested that this upcoming movie would be an animated anthology, but further details were under wraps until now. It seems 20th Century Pictures wanted to keep the film’s existence hidden from fans until they unveiled the trailer as a sneaky surprise. This strategy mirrors Trachtenberg’s initial reluctance to promote Prey as a Predator movie, with the revelation only coming later during viewings. However, due to the information about it being a Predator film leaking online, the marketing plan had to be adjusted accordingly.

Instead of being upset that “Predator: Killer of Killers” is heading straight to streaming instead of theaters, it’s possible that 20th Century Pictures aimed to avoid overwhelming the market by releasing two “Predator” movies in cinemas at once. Interestingly, this makes it the third “Predator” film in three years, with two released in the same year. This is a significant shift for a franchise that used to have only two films and a 14-year gap between “Predator 2” and “Alien vs. Predator”. Now, “Killer of Killers” could serve as an exciting summer viewing experience for fans at home, generating anticipation for the upcoming release of “Predator: Badlands” later this year.
