Coachella’s Agency Battle: CAA vs. Wasserman

2025’s Coachella festivities are all set to commence this late afternoon, marking the beginning of the live music festival season for this year.

This year, Creative Artists Agency (CAA) dominates the main performers at Coachella, according to Rostr’s yearly analysis. Specifically, CAA manages Lady Gaga, Green Day, and Post Malone, with their music division being overseen by partner Rob Light. However, it is Wasserman that leads the pack in terms of overall bookings for this year’s Coachella, having secured a total of 32 acts across the event’s lineup, making them the most active agency at Coachella. (It should be noted that Rostr’s list does not account for additional music events associated with Coachella such as the Do Lab.)

As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share that CAA currently holds the second spot with an impressive tally of 28. UTA, on the other hand, is close behind with 21 points (initially boasting 23 before Anitta and Gel had to withdraw their performances). Additionally, both companies are tied with another heavyweight in the industry – William Morris Endeavor, who also manages 21 artists. The roster has recently expanded with Weezer joining the lineup last week, while Wasserman’s Ed Sheeran continues to make waves as well.

Beyond the main acts, the Coachella 2023 lineup shines with an impressive array of stars such as Travis Scott, Missy Elliot, The Misfits, Charli xcx, and Megan Thee Stallion, among others. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter this week, Weezer is still scheduled to perform at the festival on Saturday, following the shooting of bass player Scott Shriner’s wife Jillian Lauren by police during a pursuit of suspects involved in a hit-and-run case just a few days prior.

Meanwhile, Sheeran is scheduled for a Saturday afternoon performance during the second weekend. The renowned artist is enthusiastically backing his new single “Azizam,” and his eighth studio album is also in the pipeline. Unfortunately, this year’s festival has faced some initial challenges even before opening its doors, with festival-goers expressing dissatisfaction over prolonged queues to access the car camping area, with wait times reaching up to 12 hours for some attendees.
