Brandon Sklenar Reflects on ‘1923’ Ending and His Unique Batman Vision!

After his outstanding role in the debatable film “It Ends with Us“, Brandon Sklenar has been climbing up in Hollywood’s ranks, recently excelling in successful projects on both large and small screens. First came Taylor Sheridan’s praised spinoff series of “Yellowstone“, titled “1923“, which concluded dramatically in its Season 2 last week, with Sklenar’s character Spencer Dutton experiencing hardships. Now, the latest Blumhouse production “Drop” is set to premiere this week, displaying more of Sklenar’s acting abilities – including a few unexpected physical feats. Given that it’s a thriller, its climactic third act takes place atop a Chicago skyscraper…

Before Sklenar appeared in the film “Drop“, fans were already discussing online about his potential to play a well-known superhero character, specifically Batman. In a conversation with MovieWeb, the 34-year-old actor, who was promoting “Drop” in Los Angeles, also spoke about the speculation surrounding him becoming the next Caped Crusader after Robert Pattinson’s portrayal in Matt Reeves’ latest projects. With “The Batman 2” currently being developed, it seems that Sklenar is a contender for this role.

In a hypothetical project, Sklenar shared his vision for depicting the DC superhero, stating he’d make it personally authentic while emphasizing its comic book roots. He adores Christian Bale’s portrayal of Batman, considering it his favorite. However, Sklenar wishes to highlight Bruce Wayne’s character more in line with the comics and intensify Batman’s darkness as much as possible.

Spencer from 1923: “I Miss Him”

In line with the old adage, “when you’re on a roll, you’re on a roll,” it’s quite serendipitous that Sklenar’s successful Blumhouse movie is premiering in cinemas at the same time as his popular TV series concluded. As he shared with us, “It’s quite something, really.” He admitted he hasn’t had a chance to watch the finale of 1923 yet due to press commitments, but when he gets home soon, he expects the impact of the ending to truly sink in. His character Spencer Dutton from 1923 was well-loved by many viewers, and Taylor Sheridan’s decision on how to wrap up the show has been a hot topic online recently. He further mentioned:

Sklenar expressed his deep affection for the character saying, “I adore this character immensely. He means a great deal to me, and I hold him close in my heart. I truly miss having him around.

In our interview, Meghann Fahy (known for “The White Lotus”), who portrays the love interest of Sklenar’s character Henry in their new thriller, was also present. This Emmy-nominated actress shared her thoughts on Sklenar’s recent roles, finding similarities between Henry and Spencer from “1923”. She expressed her fondness for Henry, calling him a nice guy. According to her, while Henry might be slightly different from Spencer Dutton, both characters possess the same amount of heart.

Sklenar responded, reflecting on Henry, “Absolutely, the same amount of heart, but with a bit less mess… a more refined heart. Yes, less alcohol, less explosive moments.
