Currently generating buzz for his upcoming film Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins, it’s worth noting that he was given a significant role in the epic Ramayana starring Ranbir Kapoor but chose to pass on it.

As per a recent report in ETimes, actor Jaideep Ahlawat received an offer for the role of Vibhishana, Ravana’s brother, in the upcoming Ramayana project. However, due to scheduling issues and existing obligations, he was unable to accept the part.

I’m thrilled to be a part of the buzz surrounding the upcoming adaptation of Ramayana. As a dedicated follower, I can’t help but express my excitement as I share this news: I’ll be portraying Lord Rama in this grand production, while the talented Sai Pallavi has been chosen for the role of Maa Sita. The formidable Yash will take on the character of Ravana. Additionally, esteemed actors like Sunny Deol, Lara Dutta, Kunal Kapoor, and many others are also joining the cast. Under the visionary direction of Nitesh Tiwari, this epic tale is being brought to life in two parts.

Previously, Namit Malhotra, the producer, penned an emotional message detailing his journey and revealed the release dates. He expressed, “Over a decade ago, I set out on a worthy mission to adapt this timeless tale that has captured billions of hearts for more than 5000 years for the big screen.

He exclaimed, “Come along as we make our vision a reality by breathing life into our grandest tale, filled with honor and respect… The first part will debut during Diwali 2026, followed by the second part in Diwali 2027.

2025 can’t come soon enough for me! I’m absolutely thrilled that Jaideep Ahlawat’s Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins is finally hitting Netflix on April 25th! This film promises to be a nail-biter, especially with the stellar cast including Saif Ali Khan, Nikita Dutta, and Kunal Kapoor. Directed by the talented duo of Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal, this heist thriller has me on the edge of my seat already.
