Pokémon Go will add Kingambit to the fray during the Crown Clash event next month

Preparing for the Sweet Discoveries event, Pokémon Go is readying itself for the upcoming Crown Clash event, and the timing couldn’t be more fitting for a royal showdown. From May 10th to 18th, you’ll have an opportunity to evolve the powerful Kingambit, adorn yourself with crowns, collect shinies in abundance, and earn bonus XP for evolving, all while enjoying the festivities.

For the very first time during the Crown Clash event in Pokemon Go, Kingambit, also known as the Big Blade Pokemon, makes its grand entrance! To include this formidable creature in your squad, you’ll need to undergo a special process: evolve Bisharp. However, there’s an interesting twist – for the evolution, Bisharp must be your trusted companion (buddy), and you will have to defeat 15 Pokemon that are either Dark or Steel type in Raid Battles. It doesn’t matter if Bisharp takes part in the combat; simply bring it along as a travel companion, accumulate the victories, and watch your team grow!

Additionally, two more Pokémon dressed up will be joining the festivities – Nidoqueen and Nidoking, adorned with splendid new crowns. If fortune favors you, you might even encounter their Shiny forms. The majestic ‘mons of royal lineage will hold court in three-star raids, while one-star battles will feature Sneasel, Klink, and Pawniard.

There’s just as much activity happening in the wild too. Don’t forget to watch out for frequent appearances of Pokémon such as Slowpoke, Slakoth, Piplup, Combee, Snivy, and Litleo. If luck is on your side, you might even encounter more Pawniard.

Elevating Pokemon’s experience points (XP) by twice the normal rate means it’s an excellent opportunity to tackle your pending evolution tasks. Moreover, you’ll encounter special Field Research missions themed around events and a catch-and-evolve Collection Challenge that will reward you with additional XP, Stardust, and another chance at Pawniard. Trainers who have attained level 31 or higher will also receive Candy XL for evolutions after completing the challenge without fail.
