Resident Alien: Harry & Asta Welcome Visitors from Harry’s Planet in New Comic Series (EXCLUSIVE)

Previously, it was revealed that Asta and Harry were going to have a cross-species baby in the fresh “Resident Alien” comic known as “The Book of Life”.

And that was how it turned out! However, in the next volume, titled “The Book of Changes“, you’ll find the family expanding significantly. This upcoming tale is penned by original creative duo: writer Peter Hogan and illustrator Steve Parkhouse. We are privileged to offer you an exclusive sneak peek at this new story (set for release in August through long-standing publisher Dark Horse). The storyline includes a cordial visit from Harry’s home planet.

Hogan stated that there are currently multiple extraterrestrials residing in our town, and their intention is to bring about global transformation.

Fans of “Resident Alien” have been eagerly waiting for an official announcement about Season 4, and this latest news is exactly what they’ve been longing for. The first three seasons aired on SYFY, but the upcoming season will instead air on USA Network. You can catch up on all available episodes of the first three seasons on Peacock.

From the very beginning, Dark Horse believed that this project had potential – it could succeed on television or as a film. As Hogan shared with SYFY WIRE in 2020, they actively sought a suitable platform for it in Hollywood since day one. Throughout the years, there were strange discussions with peculiar individuals, but they often led nowhere. Thus, it’s been quite unusual. It’s taken a long time – a significant wait. However, Mike Richardson, founder and President of Dark Horse, tells me that this was among their quicker projects, as it took only nine or ten years [laughs].

Sci-Fi Star Jewel Staite Teams Up with Alan Tudyk in Resident Alien Season 4A: A Look at Two Coreys and How Steven Spielberg’s The Terminal Prefigured Sheriff Mike, and an Exploration of How Resident Alen’s Alan Tudyk Draws on Robin Williams’ Mork for His Character Harry Vanderspeigle

In the upcoming fourth season of Resident Alien, Sci-fi legend Jewel Staite has joined forces with Alan Tudyk to bring a captivating tale to life. One of the intriguing aspects of this collaboration is the connection between their characters and two iconic roles – Corey from Steven Spielberg’s The Terminal and Harry Vanderspeigle in Resident Alien.

In Resident Alien, Tudyk’s character, Harry Vanderspeigle, bears a striking resemblance to Robin Williams’ Mork from the classic sitcom Mork & Mindy. This similarity is not just superficial but extends to Tudyk’s performance as he skillfully channels some of the comedic timing and mannerisms that made Mork such a beloved character.

At the same time, the fourth season of Resident Alien also explores the story of two Coreys – one from The Terminal (played by Tom Hanks) and the other being Staite’s character in the series. The connection lies in their shared name and the themes of isolation and longing for home that run throughout both stories.

In The Terminal, Hanks plays a man stranded in an airport terminal who finds solace in the friendships he forms with other travelers. Similarly, in Resident Alien, Staite’s character finds herself stranded on Earth and struggling to fit in while trying to find her way home.

By drawing on these classic Sci-fi references, Resident Alien Season 4A promises an exciting and thought-provoking exploration of identity, friendship, and the search for home, all set against a backdrop of alien invasion and small-town life.

The official synopsis for the comic series is as follows:

Head back to Patience, USA, a town that appears peaceful but hides many unsolved mysteries, some of them otherworldly! Resident alien Harry and his human companion Asta, who’ve just welcomed their baby Clover into the world, find themselves hosting guests from Harry’s home planet. The return of Agent Jones makes maintaining appearances even trickier, especially since these visitors seem to have trouble blending in.

In continuation with a series initiated back in 2013, “Resident Alien: The Book of Changes” #1 (of 4) will be available for purchase at comic book stores starting Wednesday, August 20th.
