In its SS25 collection, Wacko Maria, a renowned Japanese label, has introduced a fresh collaboration with The Dark Knight Trilogy, focusing on Heath Ledger’s iconic portrayal of the Joker. This partnership showcases key essentials, where his remarkable performance is emphasized through the use of select movie stills and minimal design elements.
The assortment is dominated by a selection of camp collar shirts with short sleeves, showcasing multiple designs of the Joker in diverse arrangements. Among them, a shirt crafted from a soft baby blue fabric catches the eye with its worn-out depictions of the Joker’s head. Scattered throughout, there are plain tees emblazoned with the phrase “Wacko Maria” on the front and a large Joker print on the back. A more intricate graphic, incorporating motifs of digital surveillance, is showcased on a black tee and black sweatshirt featuring a crew neck.
In February, the brand presented a new collaboration with The Dark Knight, showcasing an expanded roster of characters. One shirt highlights Christian Bale’s depiction as Batman amidst a blaze. This collection, initially hinted at in the brand’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, draws inspiration from Batman Begins (2005), The Dark Knight (2008), and The Dark Knight Rises (2012).
