Megyn Kelly Torches Clooney, LuPone Over ‘Journalism’ Taunt

Megyn Kelly counter-punches with the best of ’em.

Previously a prominent figure at Fox News, she has since become widely admired in the media world due to her self-made empire. Her show, “The Megyn Kelly Show,” broadcasted on SiriusXM and various podcasting platforms worldwide, provides her with an opportunity to comment on current events, frequently generating news as well.

One bonus? She has a massive platform from which to fight back against progressive smears.

In their recent chat with Variety, George Clooney and Broadway star Patti LuPone criticized Kelly for her journalistic skills, implying that she is not a genuine journalist.

George Clooney will be playing a role in the stage production “Good Night, and Good Luck,” which is based on his 2005 movie about the career of Edward R. Murrow. This theatrical adaption is where you’ll find him acting.

In her April 23 broadcast, Kelly commented, “George Clooney considers himself a journalist and has strong opinions about journalistic practices. To illustrate, he supposedly discovers the most significant story of the decade – that a president is mentally unfit, necessitating the use of the 25th Amendment to remove him from office. However, instead of speaking out, he remains silent for weeks.

She’s right, of course.

“That’s not journalism, George. That’s cowardice, followed by naked partisanship,” Kelly said.

In a straightforward manner, we could say: “Kelly observes that the movie ‘Good Night, and Good Luck’ concludes with a series of news clips, among them is one featuring Kelly herself. Similarly, Elon Musk’s controversial gesture at the 2025 inauguration was also included.

In my perspective, it’s not the biased news reports from Elon Musk’s favorite leftist journalists that Geena Davis is concerned about, but rather the fact that neither Donald Trump nor Joe Biden were the villains they were portrayed to be during their respective presidencies.

Kelly’s name was mentioned in an unfavorable manner during a brief exchange on Variety, which she read.

Clooney: I don’t pay much attention to opinions, really. When we present that montage at the end, for example, we don’t instruct people on what to think. Megyn Kelly, who has declared herself not a journalist, is one such person in that montage. However, it’s important to note that I never claimed to be a journalist either.

LuPone: She isn’t one either.

Clooney: In my defense, I’ve been to Darfur, Sudan, and the Congo, even faced gunfire in an attempt to gather stories. It’s unclear what experiences she has that qualify her as a journalist. Yet, we only present her words in this production. We don’t dictate people’s thoughts. The presentation is not manipulated or taken out of context. Instead, we simply state, “These are your words.

Kelly quickly educated the pair on her journalistic bona fides.

George Clooney showed no interest whatsoever in any of my stories, a fact I am certain of,” Kelly asserted, followed by reciting a remarkable string of achievements.

In simpler terms, A ten-year-old boy aimed a firearm at Clooney and his vehicle during filming of a documentary in an African country. Fortunately, he didn’t get shot, as Clooney pointed out.

Kelly reprimanded the actor, saying, ‘George, that’s not the honesty and ethics we value in our line of work’,”

Or, more casually:

“Kelly gave George a piece of her mind, telling him, ‘That’s not the kind of honesty and integrity we expect in this profession’.
