Actor Jaideep Ahlawat is ready for his upcoming movie Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins, co-starring Saif Ali Khan. Before the film’s premiere, Ahlawat shared an interesting fact: he had never weighed more than 70 kg until 2008, at the age of 28, even though he consumed approximately 40 rotis a day.
In an interview on the Khaane Mein Kaun Hai YouTube channel, Jaideep Ahlawat discussed his dietary habits and shared that until 2008, his weight never exceeded 70 kilograms despite his tall stature. He also mentioned that he used to consume at least forty rotis daily, as he was both eating and burning off the calories.
Later on, he emphasized that with increasing age, bodies and metabolic rates tend to change. Therefore, it’s advisable for individuals to enjoy their lives and eat freely within reason, all the while leading an active lifestyle, before these changes set in.
Actor from The Jewel Thief confessed his preference for homemade meals over dining out. He shared that after attending social gatherings, he returns home to savor his own culinary creations. In his words, “I’ve been living in Mumbai for approximately 15-16 years, and I still enjoy eating at home. When I attend parties, I return home to eat my homemade meal. I feel inadequate if I don’t consume food at home.
Instead, Jaideep Ahlawat doesn’t find difficulties in eating when traveling abroad. In fact, he enjoys trying Lebanese cuisine as an alternative to the Indian dishes he usually loves when he can’t find them during his travels.
Speaking about his early days, the Gangs of Wasseypur actor described his typical daily diet when he lived in the village. He mentioned eating a breakfast of ‘chana, bajra rotis or makhai roti with lassi, butter, and chutney’. He also shared that they would have dinner immediately afterwards, and lunch was only prepared if someone felt like having it.
Additionally, Jaideep shared that as a habit from school days, he would venture into open fields for food and snack on what was available. Emphasizing the importance of milk in his existence, the actor disclosed consuming at least half a liter of it not less than three times daily.
In this new action-packed movie titled “Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins,” Jaideep Ahlawat takes on the character of a crime boss, while Saif Ali Khan portrays the jewel thief. Key supporting roles are played by Nikita Dutta and Kunal Kapoor. The film is helmed by directors Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal, and is produced by Siddharth Anand and Mamta Anand under Marflix Pictures.
Jewel Thief is all set to premiere on Netflix on April 25, 2025.
