This segment takes inspiration from the renowned British nature documentary series, “Blue Planet,” which was narrated by David Attenborough and co-produced by the BBC and National Geographic. In this instance, Marge and Homer are portrayed as a beluga whale and a narwhal respectively. The story takes a turn towards Disney parody when they search for food on the ocean floor. An interesting twist occurs when they encounter Ursula from “The Little Mermaid,” and their whale characters respond by splitting her in two and consuming her internal organs.
In this animated series, Marge and Homer transform into animal versions of themselves and consume a character resembling Ursula from The Little Mermaid. However, this isn’t the only daring take on popular kids’ media within the show. In another episode, titled “Yellow Planet,” Marge and Homer are seen eating sponges and starfish that bear a striking resemblance to Spongebob SquarePants and Patrick Star from SpongeBob SquarePants. Despite Marge’s “The Simpsons” season 36 story wrapping up with a sugary finish, it underscores how the series hasn’t lost its sharp edge in recent years.
