Lar Park Lincoln, Actress in ‘Knots Landing’ and ‘Friday the 13th Part VII,’ Dies at 63

Actress Lar Park Lincoln, known for her cunning portrayal of Linda Fairgate on “Knots Landing” and Tina Shepard, a character with psychic abilities in “Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood,” has sadly passed away at the age of 63.

Lincoln, who fought against breast cancer, passed away on Tuesday, as reported by Actors Audition Studios – the Dallas-based organization that she established. At this time, further information is not yet disclosed.

During her impressive 45-year tenure in Hollywood, Lar made an indelible impact with her powerful acting and commitment to nurturing upcoming talent,” company executives noted.

Or simply:

“Over a remarkable 45-year career, Lar left a lasting impression on Hollywood through her outstanding performances and support for aspiring actors.

Park Lincoln initially appeared on CBS’s “Knots Landing” in 1987, joining the cast as Linda, the daughter-in-law of Karen Fairgate, played by Michele Lee. She reprised her role for the 11th season in 1989 and continued until the end of season 13. Tragically, Linda was killed off by Brian Johnston (Philip Brown) during this final season.

During her journey, she got married to Eric Fairgate, portrayed by Steve Shaw, became involved romantically with his brother, Michael, played by Patrick Petersen, and also developed a romantic connection with her superior, Greg Sumner, who was played by William Devane.

In a 2022 interview, she remarked, “I believe Linda was well-liked due to her unique blend of being both mischievous and amusing.” She went on to share that she observed several individuals in order to embody Linda, as she transformed from brunette to blonde. She recalled having lunch with David Jacobs, the series creator, who informed her that they were altering her hair color to blond. He explained, “I’m making this change because you come across as so innocent, and everyone will be astonished by your transformation.

In the movie “Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood” (1988), Tina Shepard confronts Jason Voorhees and seemingly defeats him permanently, but he manages to survive one more time.

Laurie Jill Park, born in Dallas on May 12, 1961, started her acting career in the 1985 CBS TV movie ‘Children of the Night’. Over the following two years, she featured in episodes of ‘Heart of the City’, ‘Hunter’, ‘Outlaws’, ‘Ohara’, and ‘Highway to Heaven’.

1987 saw her acting in the movies “The Princess Academy” and “House II: The Second Story”, followed by an episode of “Freddy’s Nightmares” in 1988. Following her departure from “Knots Landing”, she made guest appearances on various shows like “Murder, She Wrote”, “Space: Above and Beyond”, and “Beverly Hills, 90210”. In 2021, she reprised her role as Tina in the fan film, “Rose Blood: A Friday the 13th Fan Film”.

Apart from opening Actors Audition Studios, she authored a guide titled “Get Started, Not Scammed“, which was released in 2008, offering insights about succeeding in the entertainment business. For almost two decades, she appeared as a celebrity guest on QVC television channel to promote beauty and travel items. Moreover, she launched her own fashion line, known as the Piper Alexander Collection.

Among those who carry on her legacy, I’m proud to be part of the circle that includes my daughter Piper, along with her partner Tarek; my son Trevor, his wife Danielle; my sister Karen and her husband Harold; my brother Michael and his wife Joan; and our grandchildren Aura, Benjamin, Jack, and Mia Grace.

Her husband of 14 years, Michael Lincoln, died in December 2015 of cancer at age 43.
