Nate Lowman has been a longtime partner with the brand Supreme, working together on the opening of their Shibuya store in 2012, where he incorporated his signature bullet-hole design into the store layout and a special box logo tee. As an American artist, he later collaborated with Supreme again on a capsule collection that featured the bullet-hole motif across various apparel items, approximately 10 years after their initial collaboration. Unfortunately, a project with Vans, involving the Skate Grosso Mid shoe adorned with his bullet-hole artwork, was postponed indefinitely during the following summer. Since then, Lowman has once more collaborated with Supreme, this time bringing his bullet-hole art to their Shanghai flagship store last year.
To mark the inaugural solo show in Japan titled “This Neighborhood’s Changed” by Lowman this weekend, Supreme is readying a retail launch of the Skate Grosso Mids trio. The shoes from Jeff Grosso’s signature collection boast high-quality suede and canvas materials, with bullet-hole patterns across the upper that showcase Lowman’s unique design. The initial color options of off-white, black, and red are all scheduled to release, and each pair will display co-branding at the heel tab as well as the woven tongue label.
The eagerly anticipated debut of Supreme’s Vans Skate Grosso Mid, adorned with art from Nate Lowman, is scheduled for this coming Saturday, April 26th. These limited-edition shoes will be accessible at Supreme’s Japanese retail outlets in Shibuya, Osaka, Harajuku, Fukuoka, Daikanyama, and Nagoya, along with the online store of Supreme Japan.
