Ever since Supernatural wrapped up its run four years ago, it’s been a longing void not seeing Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins sharing screen time. Fortunately, they are reuniting for the final season of The Boys. Interestingly, Eric Kripke, who brought Supernatural to life, is now at the helm as showrunner for this outrageous superheroes series (available with an Amazon Prime subscription). Hearing his thoughts on having these three talented actors together again is truly delightful.

When it was revealed that Padalecki and Collins would team up with Ackles (the actor portraying Soldier Boy) for the fifth and last season of the popular Amazon series, there was much anticipation among viewers. At this point, it’s uncertain who Collins and Padalecki will portray and how their roles will be woven into the plot. However, when Kripke spoke to TV Insider, he made a significant statement that should please fans:

It’s a lot of fun. We’ve captured the scene. I’ll verify that Jared, Jensen, and Misha appear together in the same shot, share the same narrative thread, and engage with one another within it.

Contemplating Ackles, Padalecki, and Collins appearing together again on screen feels strange yet thrilling. Yet, it might be a bit disorienting since they won’t portray their usual characters Dean, Sam, and Castiel. Nonetheless, I’ll seize any reunion opportunity that comes my way! Furthermore, another alumnus from the supernatural series, Phil Sgriccia who often directed Supernatural, is part of this collaboration as well. Kripke’s interview description of their meeting sounds incredibly nostalgic, and I wish I could secretly listen in like a tiny spectator or Supernatural character!

Reuniting the five of us on set for filming felt much like a high school reunion, bringing us right back into our familiar routines. It was heartwarming and delightful to be reunited with these individuals I hold dear, a group I haven’t been able to work with collectively, at least in a professional setting, for many years. So, the experience held great significance for me.

With so much history between them, I can only imagine the tales they must have swapped when they were back together again. Their enduring friendship speaks volumes about their camaraderie and the bond they share. The buzz surrounding their reunion is a clear indication of the love and anticipation that the franchise’s loyal fans harbor. Mark Sheppard, one of the cast members, seems to appreciate this fervor deeply. Though details about their on-screen reunion are scarce, I eagerly await how it all unfolds.

Beyond the supernatural elements, there are still numerous factors to take into account when considering how “The Boys” will come to a close. I must admit, seeing Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins back together again is bound to stir some emotions within me. Given the spontaneous twists that often occur in The Boys, it’s challenging to predict exactly what their reunion will entail. All I can do is keep my fingers crossed that when the season eventually premieres, the actors’ key scenes will be as enjoyable to watch as they were for them to create alongside Eric Kripke and the team.
