Hugh Laurie to Topline Thriller ‘The Wanted Man’ at Apple TV+

Hugh Laurie is set to break bad for Apple TV+.

A multiple Emmy nominee will appear in a crime thriller titled “The Wanted Man” on the streaming platform. This eight-episode series is brought to us by creator and executive producer George Kay, known for his work on shows like “Hijack” and “Lupin“, along with Observatory Pictures. They are collaborating with All3Media’s New Pictures (responsible for “The Long Shadow“) on the production.

In addition to Thandiwe Newton, who played a role in “Westworld”, there are also Fionn Whitehead from “Dunkirk”, Gina McKee known for her work in “My Policeman”, Hazel Doupe starring in “Say Nothing”, Elliott Heffernan best recognized for his role in “Blitz”, and Stephen Dillane, a familiar face from “Game of Thrones”.

In this gripping tale, I find myself immersed in the world of “The Wanted Man,” where I follow the life of Felix Carmichael (Laurie), the powerful leader of London’s crime empire known as The Capital. After years of eluding justice, Felix is finally apprehended and locked away. However, while incarcerated, he uncovers a shocking betrayal from someone within his inner circle. As this traitor seeks to destroy everything Felix has built, he plots a perilous prison break in order to mete out vengeance and once again become the hunted – a wanted man yet again.

Just wrapped up my latest role in season 3 of Apple’s thrilling spy series, “Tehran”. You might recognize me from my stint on “House”, but more recently I’ve been keeping busy with projects like Netflix’s “All the Light We Cannot See” and HBO’s “Avenue 5”. As a gamer, I’m always up for new challenges, and these roles have definitely provided me with some exciting ones!

On “The Wanted Man,” Kay will serve as the lead producer, working alongside Willow Grylls and Matt Sandford in executive production roles. Jakob Verbruggen, who has previously worked on shows like “Dark Matter” and “Black Mirror,” is slated to direct.
