‘Animal Control’ and ‘Going Dutch’ Comedies Renewed at Fox

Fox is keeping the live-action comedy lights on for 2025-26.

As a game enthusiast logging in to share some exciting news, I’m thrilled to announce that my favorite live-action comedy shows, Animal Control and Going Dutch, are coming back next season! This means we’ll be enjoying four more seasons of the hilarious antics on Animal Control, starring Joel McHale, and a second round of the Denis Leary-led Going Dutch. Can’t wait to laugh along with them again!

Michael Thorn, president of Fox Television Network, praises ‘Animal Control’ and ‘Going Dutch’ as successful shows. He credits the hilarious comedic duo Joel and Denis for bringing these characters to life, making them standouts on TV today. According to him, their partnership provides a solid base for creating our new comedy block. The shows are known for their offbeat, amusing workplace humor that is both shocking and unforeseeable. Each week, Joel, Denis, the cast, and production teams consistently deliver side-splitting moments.

For the upcoming 2025-26 season, Fox’s comedy lineup will include the continuation of long-running animated shows like American Dad, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, and The Simpsons, all of which secured impressive four-season orders in April. Additionally, Krapopolis and Universal Basic Guys are also part of this roster. This announcement follows Fox’s earlier decision to cancel the first-year drama series Rescue: Hi-Surf, made known on Wednesday.

Both “Animal Control” and “Going Dutch” are created internally at Fox Entertainment Studios, with Jax Media assisting in the production of “Animal Control.” The viewership numbers for these shows when they first air are relatively low, typically around 1 million viewers, but they experience significant growth in streaming and delayed viewing.

The show titled “Animal Control” focuses on a team of professionals who have a special affinity for animals rather than people. In this series, John McHale works alongside Michael Rowland, Vella Lovell, Ravi Patel, and Grace Palmer.

Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg, Dan Sterling are the creators and serve as executive producers alongside McHale and Tad Quill who acts as the showrunner for the series.

The show Going Dutch features Leary as a U.S. Army colonel who is assigned to command a base, the least significant outpost in the Netherlands. This base was previously managed by his estranged daughter (Taylor Misiak). Alongside Leary, Danny Pudi, Laci Mosley and Hal Cumpston are also part of the cast.

The series is overseen by its creator, Joel Church-Cooper, who also serves as an executive producer. Denis Leary and Jack Leary, through their production company Amoeba, are also involved in the production process.
