The series unfolds after a murder occurs within Yosemite National Park, which attracts approximately four million visitors annually. Alongside Lily Santiago as newcomer park ranger Naya Vasquez, “Untamed” delves into the hidden secrets from both Kyle’s and the park’s past. These secrets could potentially be as perilous as the murderer themselves.
In an interview with Netflix, Mark L. Smith, co-showrunner/creator of Untamed, shared his goal to challenge viewers’ perceptions of Yosemite by highlighting the hidden dangers rather than its picturesque beauty. He stated, “People often associate Yosemite with breathtaking landscapes and views, but we aimed to shed light on the potential risks that lie just beyond.
