As a gamer, let me say that even though I’ve grown accustomed to the star-studded spectacle of the Met Gala on the first Monday each May, Anna Wintour always manages to keep things fresh. Last week, she revealed some surprises hidden in the sleeves of her Louis Vuitton evening coat. The guest list this year was particularly intriguing, featuring a substantial number of newcomers. These fresh faces added an exciting twist, with A-list athletes, Bollywood stars, and cast members from the buzzing third season of “The White Lotus” gracing the event.
The theme for the night’s attire, “Tailored for You,” influenced the brands visible on the red carpet, with numerous interpretations of suits and matching accessories honoring the Costume Institute’s latest exhibit, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” This exhibition delves into the concept of dandyism from the 19th century, highlighting fashion as a reflection of Black identity. It is currently open until October 26.
So, how did luxury brands perform on this glamorous evening? To provide an answer, The Hollywood Reporter collaborated exclusively with data company Launchmetrics for their annual Red Carpet Power Rankings. These rankings evaluate the engagement generated during awards season, covering five major events from January to March and May’s Met Gala. Using its unique Media Impact Value (MIV) algorithm, Launchmetrics assesses and ranks both brands and celebrities across various categories such as fashion, watches and jewelry, accessories, along with the top five women and men at each event. The MIV algorithm assigns a monetary worth to every post, social media interaction, and editorial story, helping determine a brand’s influence and engagement earned.
At the 2025 Met Gala, the combined Market Impact Value (MIV) reached an astounding $1.3 billion. The top 10 or even top 5 spots in each category contributed nearly $445 million to this grand total. What’s even more remarkable is that this staggering sum was amassed within just 48 hours following the start of the Met Gala red carpet, whereas in 2024, the same measurement period lasted seven days and accumulated a total of $1.4 billion. So, who excelled at the event and managed to surprise everyone? The results are unveiled below.
Top 10 Fashion Brands: Pharrell Williams Styles Louis Vuitton to a Solid Victory
It’s hardly shocking that Louis Vuitton took first place among top fashion brands tonight, given their role as the main sponsor of “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” event. Notably, Pharrell Williams, their men’s creative director, was one of the night’s co-chairs, accompanied by Colman Domingo in Valentino, Lewis Hamilton in Wales Bonner, and A$AP Rocky, who wore a piece from his own AWGE label. On the red carpet, Pharrell showcased the intricate craftsmanship of his jacket, adorned with pearls to create a pinstripe effect, and even collaborated with several celebrities on their outfits, occasionally dabbling in women’s design for a unique look. Sabrina Carpenter expressed her excitement about this collaboration, sharing that she had long admired Pharrell and finally got the chance to attend the show with him, fulfilling her dream.
Pharrell fashioned a unique burgundy pinstriped tailcoat with crystal embellishments for Carpenter, which she wore over a matching bodysuit and accessorized with Chopard diamonds, giving off the impression of a glamorous ringmaster in a circus. Carpenter jokingly commented to Anthony about her leggy attire, “He said, ‘You’re quite short, so no pants for you.'” Alongside Carpenter, Pharrell, Jeremy Allen White, Doechii, Pusha T, and Malcolm Washington were among the ten stars dressed by Louis Vuitton that night. This combined exposure generated an impressive total of $55.2 million.
Top 5 Women: A White Lotus Star Wins the Night

However, it was Manobal, currently undergoing a change from her Blackpink days to pursue a solo album and acting career (most notably as Mook in “The White Lotus”), who took the lead in the top five women’s rankings. Pharrell crafted a unique style for her, featuring a structured jacket layered over a corseted bodysuit and tights adorned with Louis Vuitton’s distinctive Monogram pattern. On Instagram, where her post has amassed over 3.3 million likes, the Thai-born artist and musician expressed gratitude to Pharrell, Wintour, and the entire team who made her custom outfit a reality.
1st and 2nd places went to Thai model and actress Sarocha Chankimha in Valentino and Blackpink’s Jennie in Chanel at the recent event. Jennie showcased her Met Gala outfit to her 87.2 million Instagram followers, receiving a staggering total of nearly 10 million likes and over 47 million comments, figures that any brand would be envious of. It’s important to note that engagement on Instagram is significant. Two prominent Instagram personalities, Zendaya with 179 million followers, and Rihanna with 149 million followers, took the 4th and 5th spots in the top five. This might seem surprising given that these two women often take the top spot, but here’s why: Neither Zendaya nor Rihanna, nor their teams, shared their outfits on Instagram. This means less engagement for the brands they wore, which is likely the main reason they didn’t rank higher in this list.
Top 5 Men: A Bollywood Superstar Earns the Top Spot

If you find yourself asking “Who is this Shah Rukh Khan person?” while looking over the men’s rankings, it’s possible that Bollywood isn’t your cup of chai. Often referred to as “King Khan,” he’s a prolific actor with over 100 films under his belt and recently made history by attending the prestigious Met Gala as the first male Bollywood star ever invited. At the event, he was escorted by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, a renowned figure in India’s fashion industry. Khan donned a suit designed by Mukherjee and accessorized with a walking stick, a unique piece crafted by Mukherjee featuring an 18-karat gold Bengal tiger adorned with tourmalines, sapphires, old mine-cut and brilliant-cut diamonds. His Instagram post about the event has earned over 5.3 million likes and 80,500 comments, solidifying his position as the top earner of $19 million in MIV rankings.
At the Met Gala, Punjabi artist Diljit Dosanjh, known for acting, singing, and producing, came in third place with a fashion choice reminiscent of traditional Sikh royal attire by designer Prabal Gurung, amassing a MIV value of $7.3 million. The top five spots among male attendees, who wore Prada, were filled by Hamilton, Domingo, and Bad Bunny, each bringing their individual MIV values to the total of $48.6 million. In stark contrast, the leading ladies at the event earned a whopping $86.2 million in MIV, nearly double that of their male counterparts. Despite being an occasion focusing on dandyism and tailoring, it was the women who ruled the red carpet discussions and garnered greater audience engagement.
Top 10 Watch & Jewelry Brands: Cartier & Tiffany & Co. Dressed More Than 30 Attendees

The amount of stars adorned with their jewels significantly impacts jewelers’ positions in the Power Rankings. For instance, Cartier boasted 17 star clients such as Halle Berry, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Bad Bunny, Jon Batiste, and Ayo Edebiri, while Tiffany & Co. almost matched that number, with Pharrell and his wife, Helen, Nick Jonas, Hailey Bieber, Doechii, and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (making his Met Gala debut in Burberry) on their list. Consequently, it’s not surprising that Cartier and Tiffany & Co. ended up with similar MIV figures, generating $11.8 million and $10.8 million respectively.
The number of celebrities wearing their jewelry affects the rankings for jewelers like Cartier and Tiffany & Co. For example, Cartier has dressed 17 stars including Halle Berry, Rihanna, etc., while Tiffany & Co. has almost as many star clients. So it’s no wonder that these two companies ended up with similar earnings of around $10-$12 million each.
1. Bulgari, Swarovski, Chopard, and Jacob & Co. follow one another on the list, while Boucheron’s presence signifies its growing influence in the U.S. market. However, it is Mumbai-based jeweler Golecha that steals the spotlight, having crafted a unique necklace to complement Dosanjh’s style. This choice proved profitable, resulting in $2.8 million worth of engagement earned.
Top 5 Accessory Brands: Spectator Shoes and Haute Hats

At that dandy-style event, it wasn’t just canes that caught everyone’s attention. Shoes were a close second, with Christian Louboutin taking the lead, racking up an impressive $1.6 million in Market Investment Value (MIV). His patent-leather designs, such as the Aiglon black-and-white spectator loafer sported by Andrew Scott alongside a Willy Chavarria suit, and the white Aiglissima boot paired with Law Roach’s Burberry suit, were the talk of the town. Notably, Law Roach, known as an influential “image architect,” collaborated with Daniel Lee, Burberry’s creative director, to create stunning looks for stars like Jodie Turner-Smith, Cardi B, and Angela Bassett. As a gamer, I can say that just like in my favorite games, the right footwear can truly elevate an outfit!
Hats, particularly those created by renowned milliner Stephen Jones, sparked a lot of discussion. Rihanna and Tracee Ellis Ross accessorized their custom Marc Jacobs outfits with personalized hats designed by Jones, while Kim Kardashian completed her Chrome Hearts leather ensemble with a coordinating fedora also by Jones. This led to Stephen Jones earning $1.4 million in total sales at the Met Gala. Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik took third and fifth place, respectively, while Nike made an appearance due to George Lucas’s unique choice: he paired his navy tuxedo with Nike’s Flex Experience RN7 sneakers in black, which were once priced at $60, though unfortunately are no longer available.
