Instead of finding themselves in Texas to encounter a chainsaw-wielding murderer, horror enthusiasts can now escape to Nevada, where such an experience awaits them at a Texas Chainsaw Massacre-themed haunted house. This chilling attraction is set to open in Las Vegas as part of Universal Horror Unleashed’s year-round horror offering.
At Universal Horror Unleashed, opening August 14, you’ll find “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” among its four spine-tingling attractions. This haunted house is inspired by the iconic 1974 horror film of the same name and promises to recreate its chilling events. As the teaser video hints, visitors will retrace the path of the unfortunate teenagers on their Texas road trip. The journey begins in a cemetery, followed by an encounter with an eerie old man at a gas station, just as in the movie. From there, the terror escalates.
The ghostly tour continues by transporting visitors to the notorious shack of Leatherface and his kin, a rundown residence teeming with horror. There, guests may come face-to-face with Leatherface, who is wielding a chainsaw as expected.
Following this, they’ll step into the Slaughter House, where further frights lie in wait within an engaging environment. Additionally, visitors can indulge in Rough Cuts, a dining option that features miniature dishes creatively carved with “chainsaw” designs.
In the aforementioned video, creators of the upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre attraction claim they’ll offer visitors an opportunity to delve into areas of the scenario that weren’t shown in the original movie.
According to design manager Stephen Morrison, the movie is extremely intense, and we aimed to reflect that intensity. So, when you watch the film, expect to enter a farmhouse where you will be chased by Leatherface.
It’s not a new occurrence that Universal has reimagined The Texas Chainsaw Massacre series for a theme park adventure. Previously, there was a house available during Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando in 2024. However, unlike the seasonal event, the Las Vegas experience will remain open year-round.
