This summer, Latto is taking a vacation. Following the announcement of her European and UK tour dates for this season, she’s now headed to Jamaica for the release of her first solo song since “Sugar Honey Iced Tea.” Known as “Somebody,” the single incorporates a sample from Aaliyah’s 1998 hit “Are You That Somebody.

In a refreshed rendition of the song, the languid summer track reworks the “Are You That Somebody” melody. Latto sweetly sings on the chorus: “I genuinely yearn for someone / Reveal yourself as that someone / I don’t pay heed to your physical attributes / However, I adore how you interact with my body.

The music video for “Somebody” has been released, directed by Latto’s sister and featuring picturesque Jamaica as its backdrop. Popcaan takes on the role of Latto’s romantic interest in the video. This follows a remix of “Blick Sum,” where Latto collaborated with Playboi Carti to add his verse to the popular version of the song Sugar Honey Iced Tea.

The rapper is preparing to start a series of shows worldwide, with the tour launching on June 7 at the DLT Malta Festival in Malta.
