NBC Bringing Back Gold Zone for 2026 Winter Olympics, Scott Hanson to Return as Host

The Gold Zone is returning to Peacock, and Scott Hanson will be back as host.

NBC says that it will bring back Gold Zone for the Milan Cortina winter Olympics next year

During the 2024 Paris Olympics, NBC Olympics launched Gold Zone on Peacock for the first time. This program mimics the multi-game highlight format that NFL RedZone made famous, with Hanson serving as the longtime host. The show allows viewers to follow various events as Hanson and other hosts curate the most exciting moments, surprising upsets, or unmissable spectacles. In 2026, Gold Zone will debut its Winter Games edition on Peacock for the first time.

The Hollywood Reporter went behind the scenes of the show last year.

In simpler terms, Hanson said, “A part of my role is to gently remind the people of the U.S., ‘it’s important that you pay attention now.’ I need to give them a reason for this reminder, to catch their attention. If I can effectively do my job in the 15-30 seconds I have to introduce a sport, then hopefully I’ve caught your attention, and it enhances your overall enjoyment.

Now Hanson will bring that energy and effort to the slopes and rinks of the winter games

I’m absolutely pumped to be back at the helm of ‘Gold Zone’ on Peacock for the upcoming Winter Olympics in February! It’s like clockwork returning to my role as you’ll witness the finest moments from every sport, live and unfiltered. This year’s event promises to be the biggest yet – over 3,000 athletes competing in 116 events! Catch all the action exclusively on Gold Zone!

Following his impressive performance in Paris, I’m eagerly anticipating Scott to infuse his unique energy and fervor into the snow and ice of the Winter Olympics,” said Molly Solomon, executive producer and president of NBC Olympics Production. “The show ‘Gold Zone’ was a hit in Paris that we couldn’t resist bringing back for Milan Cortina — a first for the Winter Games on Peacock. And there isn’t anyone more capable of guiding viewers from ice hockey to short track to snowboarding and beyond than the exceptional Scott Hanson.
