Previously, it was reported that the popular sports comedy series “Ted Lasso,” which debuted on Apple TV+ in 2020, made a significant comeback in March. The show revolves around the character of Ted Lasso, portrayed by Jason Sudeikis, who is a former American football coach tasked with coaching the British soccer team AFC Richmond in the UK.

Back in March, during Jason and Travis Kelce’s show, I myself learned that Season 4 was indeed on its way. Exciting news it was, as Ted Lasso would be switching gears to coach a women’s soccer team in the upcoming season. Now, it seems our beloved Hannah Waddingham has confirmed the rumors – Season 4 is slated to begin filming this very summer! It appears that the show’s comeback took us all by surprise.

Waddingham Ted Lasso Getting a Fourth Season: “It’s Amazing”

Waddingham remarked, ‘We believed it was gone for good, but now it seems to have returned,'” said Waddingham during her interview on the UK Morning show. She was there to discuss her latest film, where she shares the screen with Tom Cruise.

In the show, the character played by Waddingham, Rebecca Welton, shared that production for Season 4 of Ted Lasso will commence in July. Here is a video recording from her interview on Capital Breakfast, where she discusses Ted Lasso’s upcoming fourth season starting at the 9:10 mark.

Another Ted Lasso Star Weighs in on the Fourth Season

Brett Goldstein, who portrays Roy Kent, the ex-captain turned assistant coach in Ted Lasso, previously expressed that when Season 3 wraps up in 2023, “I shed tears, and we shared a heartfelt farewell. However, I had a part of me believing this wasn’t the final chapter. It seemed so appealing and welcoming, I just couldn’t help but feel there must be a way to continue.

He mentioned that since it had been two years since Season 3 ended, he felt a bit uncertain about its return. However, when it did come back, he was pleasantly surprised and said, “Ah, wonderful.” Still, deep down, he had hoped there would be more seasons to follow.

Goldstein didn’t explicitly announce his return to the role, but hinted at it by saying, “I’m coming back in a professional capacity as an executive producer and writer” for Season 4 of Ted Lasso.
