Recently, a previous video of Sonu Sood riding a bike in Spiti Valley without a helmet has been shared online, causing quite a stir. Given his recent advocacy for road safety following his wife’s accident last month, this old clip has sparked an investigation by the Himachal Pradesh police.

Sonu Sood has earned recognition for his charitable endeavors and utilizing his social media platform to promote road safety, along with various other initiatives. However, at present, the actor from Dabangg is facing criticism due to reported violations of traffic regulations, such as riding a motorcycle without wearing a helmet or any other protective equipment.

A video showing the Happy New Year actor cruising through Spiti Valley without a helmet on, dressed casually in a shirtless look with boxers, recently surfaced online. The clip also revealed that he wore dark sunglasses and costly footwear, but his choice to disregard helmet usage drew criticism from fans for breaching road safety regulations.

In that viral video, Sonu shared it on his Instagram account during the release of his first directorial project, Fateh. Initially, he’s spotted riding without a helmet, but later in the video, he wears a helmet for a short duration.

Following this, supporters voiced their concerns on social media platforms, urging him to avoid promoting helmet-less motorcycle riding. One fan wrote, “Please wear protective gear and a helmet… you’ve been an outstanding example of kindness and inspiration. Please don’t encourage riding without safety equipment in such conditions.” Another commented, “A celebrity riding without a helmet and safety gear is encouraging reckless behavior.

Following public outcry on social media, the Lahaul & Spiti Police and Himachal Pradesh Police quickly responded. They re-shared the video on their social media platform (formerly Twitter) and clarified that an investigation was underway regarding a video apparently showing a Bollywood actor disregarding traffic laws in Lahaul-Spiti. Preliminary information suggests the video might date back to 2023, and verification is currently being conducted by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) HQ Keylong. If any violations are confirmed, the District Police will take necessary legal action accordingly.
