Interestingly, Sanderson also took over the writing of ‘The Wheel of Time’ series after Robert Jordan’s demise in 2007. Recently, as a consulting producer for the Amazon TV adaptation, he has now spoken up about the decision to end ‘The Wheel of Time’ show.

In the comments beneath a recent video on Sanderson’s YouTube channel, the author mentioned that he didn’t have a significant role in the production of the show. Previously, his criticism of the series was well-known. He suggested that his involvement extended only as far as the studio wanting to associate his name with it, stating, “I won’t miss being overlooked.” However, on a brighter note, he expressed remorse over the cancellation of the show after its best season, a sentiment shared by many fans. I wasn’t deeply involved, only aware of what was made public. They mentioned that they were renegotiating, and I assumed everything would be fine. Then, I didn’t hear anything for two months. After that, I found out about the news just like everyone else.

Still, it’s disappointing as, despite my issues with the show, it had a loyal fanbase who deserved better than a sudden cancellation after its best season. I won’t miss feeling largely disregarded; they used my name for credibility but didn’t want me to contribute significantly.
