Under a multi-year agreement, Apple TV+ secures the first chance to look at feature films produced by The North Road Company’s Chernin Entertainment.
The contract is associated with Peter Chernin’s media brand that will produce Apple TV+’s forthcoming television show titled “Chief of War“, featuring Jason Momoa, as well as the documentary series “The Fight for Football” for their streaming service.
Peter Chernin, head of The North Road Company, expressed his enthusiasm in a statement about continuing their fruitful collaboration with Apple on the series side, noting that they’ve found Apple to be intelligent, bold, and consistently helpful. He looks forward to expanding this successful partnership by producing movies together.
In 2020, Peter Chernin’s highly productive studio, previously known as Fox, signed a preliminary agreement for film production with Netflix. This studio, named North Road, encompasses Chernin Entertainment, the American assets of Red Arrow Studios, the non-fiction label Words + Pictures, North Road Television, and Kinetic Content.
In 2020, Peter Chernin’s very active studio, previously Fox, secured a preliminary deal for filmmaking with Netflix. This studio, known as North Road, incorporates Chernin Entertainment, the American assets of Red Arrow Studios, the non-fiction label Words + Pictures, North Road Television, and Kinetic Content.)
Simultaneously ensuring content delivery for international streaming platforms and traditional TV networks, North Road is also eyeing growth opportunities within its theatrical film division.
Chernin Entertainment has produced movies like Hidden Figures, Ford v Ferrari, The Greatest Showman, and the Planet of the Apes series. Their latest film releases are the action comedy Back in Action and Fear Street: Prom Queen, with upcoming projects that include Apex, 11817, Altar, and The Backrooms.
In this version, I’ve tried to simplify the language while maintaining accuracy. For example, instead of “film credits,” I used “movies produced by” for a more natural-sounding sentence. Similarly, I replaced “recent film releases” with “latest films” and “upcoming film slate” with “upcoming projects.
As a devoted fan, it’s thrilling to see Chernin Entertainment deepening their partnership with Apple TV+. This move aligns perfectly with Apple Original Films expanding their roster, boasting upcoming titles like “F1 The Movie,” starring the talented Brad Pitt, directed by Joseph Kosinski, and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. I can hardly wait for its theater release on June 27!
