It appears that some games on Netflix Games will be taken down, and it was only a matter of time. As reported by What’s On Netflix, approximately 20% of the total library on Netflix Games, which includes titles from both independent and well-known studios, is set to be removed.

Indeed, those beloved titles like Carmen Sandiego and Monument Valley are part of the mix as well. However, much like Apple Arcade, the nature of subscription-based gaming means that some fantastic games vanish when their licenses run out.

The complete roster is particularly heartbreaking, containing titles like Hades, Katana Zero, Dumb Ways to Die, Braid (Anniversary Edition), and others that are scheduled to leave. According to WoN, however, you can still enjoy these games for a while longer as they will be removed from the service in July.

Of course, all this doom and gloom does need to be tempered somewhat as Netflix does still have a worthwhile lineup, as well as some major new arrivals including the
WWE 2k franchise
(no surprise given the wrestling promotion’s partnership with the streamer),

Yu Suzuki’s Steel Paws

Although it’s important to note that these are significant losses, it’s hard not to notice the impact of eliminating titles like the Monument Valley series. This stylish 3D puzzler left a lasting impression on platforms such as Netflix, even being featured in their popular series House of Cards.
