‘Ransom Canyon’ Renewed for Season 2 at Netflix

Netflix has given the go-ahead for another season of the contemporary Western show, titled “Ransom Canyon“, which follows the feuds among three powerful ranching clans based in the Texas Hill Country.

Josh Duhamel reappears as the stern rancher Staten Kirkland, with Minka Kelly portraying Quinn O’Grady. In this installment of the struggle to safeguard Ransom, an enigmatic cowboy arrives in town, stirring up old memories. Tensions rise as Staten struggles to defend his land and the only affection that could rescue him from the ghosts tormenting him, according to the series creators’ synopsis.

The new, heartfelt romance series, following the popularity of Paramount+’s “Yellowstone,” charted its way onto Netflix’s global top 10 list for English television and ranked among the top 10 TV shows in a total of 77 countries.

April Blair, the showrunner, creator, and executive producer, expressed her joy that Netflix is set to continue with Ransom Canyon! The charming nook of Texas Hill Country has plenty more tales waiting to be shared, and we’re thrilled to share them with our wonderful audience. Buckle up for another exciting journey!

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share my excitement about the upcoming season of “Ransom Canyon,” a captivating series penned by Jodi Thomas and brought to life by Blair, creator of “All American.” The filming for the second installment will once again take us back to the Netflix Studios in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Once more, we’ll harness on-location solar energy, geothermal heating and cooling systems, and various additional resources under the sunny skies of New Mexico, to minimize the show’s environmental impact and cut down on operational expenses.

Dan Angel and Duhamel receive credit as executive producers alongside others. For the second season, the main cast features James Brolin, Eoin Macken, Lizzy Greene, Andrew Liner, Garrett Wareing, Jack Schumacher, and Marianly Tejada.
