‘The Pitt’ Adds Sepideh Moafi to Season 2 Cast

The Pitt is putting another doctor on shift for its second season.

Max’s highly praised medical drama has brought on board Sepideh Moafi as part of its cast for season two, currently being filmed for a debut in early 2026. Known for her role in The L Word: Generation Q, Moafi will assume the role of a regular series character, portraying an emergency room attending physician.

charles baker, irene choi, laetitia holland, and lucas iverson are joining the cast for the upcoming season of the show, with each of them set to appear in a recurring capacity, while she is the most recent member added to the cast.

For Max, the show titled “The Pitt,” featuring Noah Wyle from ER, was a huge success through word of mouth. This medical drama, set in the emergency department of a Pittsburgh hospital, attracted an average of 6.18 million viewers per episode, according to Nielsen’s ratings over a 35-day period across all platforms. This made it Max’s most popular original series during the 2024-25 season. A second season was commissioned by the streaming service just a month after its debut.

John Wells Productions, in collaboration with Warner Bros. Television, is responsible for creating the TV show titled “The Pitt“. R. Scott Gemmill serves as the series creator and executive producer, working alongside John Wells, Wyle, Michael Hissrich, Erin Jontow from John Wells Productions, and Simran Baidwan.

Moafi portrayed the beloved character Gigi Ghorbani in Showtime’s “The L Word: Generation Q”. Her resume also features roles in Apple TV’s “Black Bird”, HBO’s “The Deuce” and Hulu’s limited series “Class of ‘09”. She is represented by multiple talent agencies, including Principal Entertainment LA, Gersh, ID, and Schreck Rose.
