Denis Villeneuve is officially directing the next James Bond film at Amazon MGM Studios.

The studio verified the announcement, but didn’t provide further information such as the cast list. Here’s Denis Villeneuve sharing his thoughts on the matter: “My earliest cinema experiences are associated with 007. I’ve been a Bond enthusiast since I first saw ‘Dr. No’ with Sean Connery alongside my father. For me, James Bond is like hallowed ground,” he expressed to Variety.

He went on to say, “I’m looking forward to preserving the legacy and paving the way for future ventures. This is a significant duty, yet it’s also immensely exhilarating for us.
