2024 saw TopMob as the first to disclose that Aamir Khan was joining forces with director Lokesh Kanagaraj for a superhero movie. During the promotions of Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir hinted at discussions with the Coolie filmmaker regarding a project, without divulging the specific genre of their collaboration. Now, in an exclusive conversation with TopMob following the success of his social dramedy, Aamir has confirmed that he will indeed be working on a superhero film with Lokesh.
Speaking about the upcoming Superhero movie, Aamir shared his enthusiasm, “Indeed, this is a superhero film. I’m really looking forward to it as Lokesh (Kanagaraj) is an exceptional director.” He also mentioned that the production of the ambitious project would begin next year in the second half, following the completion of his current project with Raju (Rajkumar Hirani). “We plan to start shooting for it around September 2026,” he added.
Aamir expressed his eagerness for the upcoming action movie, stating, “I can hardly wait! I find it particularly thrilling as I haven’t worked on an action film in quite some time.” Prior to directing Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film, Aamir will complete work on a social drama with Rajkumar Hirani, which is a biopic based on Dadasaheb Phalke.
