For folks eagerly waiting for October 31st, Halloween isn’t just a single-day celebration; it’s a whole season filled with eerie delights, and there’s nobody more in tune with that fact than Universal Orlando Resort.
This year, Universal Studios Florida’s Halloween Horror Nights is set to begin with a chilling charm, marking its 34th anniversary. Much like the previous year, they’re starting the spooky season ahead of time, launching the event on Friday, August 29, 2025, and running it until November 2. This timeline leaves a bit of wiggle room for some additional shrieks.
Many people consider Halloween incomplete without an evening trip to the park. Just as anticipated, Universal is set to deliver ten haunted houses, which draw inspiration from renowned figures in horror, alongside their own uniquely macabre creations. As always, there’ll be a heady blend of houses based on popular existing horror properties and completely original concepts. However, what remains constant is the adrenaline-pumping bone-chilling environments, sets, and situations that these houses will offer.
In addition to the haunted houses, Scare Zones at Universal Studios Florida continue the chilling atmosphere, and a thrilling live stage performance adds an extra dose of terror to your experience.
Here I am, excitedly sharing the scoop on what’s coming up in the 2025 season, as reported by SYFY Wire! Keep an eye on this space for all the latest news and details – if you’re brave enough to face the spoilers!
Jason Un1v3rse – Haunted House
Jason Vorhees and his infamous machete have been terrorizing park visitors for close to three decades, appearing in stage shows, Terror Trams, and dedicated haunted houses, not just in Orlando but also Hollywood. This year, the protagonist of Friday the 13th is set to lead the daring few on a “revenge journey” through a summer camp setting, making it an especially exciting event for enthusiasts of the iconic horror series.
In the universe of Jason Un1v3rse, you’ll get a chance to explore Camp Crystal Lake, the place where it all began. As visitors, you’ll be guided through his familiar territories, “from the squeaky floorboards of his dilapidated cabin to the crumbling main lodge and the foreboding forest that provides no sanctuary for his victims,” Universal explained in an official announcement.
At every turn, fans can expect a deluge of notorious murder scenes from Jason’s brutal killing spree. As he torments and pursues his victims, they will discover, often too late, that the horror legend is indeed true.
Absolutely, specifics about the supposedly haunted house were disclosed on a Friday the 13th in June, which demonstrates such an attention to detail that it sends chills down our spines.
Fallout – Haunted House

Get ready for a journey through time, specifically to the year 2296. The setting is modeled after the well-known video game series titled “Fallout,” which was further developed in a 2024 TV series by Jonathan Nolan (renowned for his work on “Westworld” and “The Dark Knight” trilogy).
With such a deep backstory, we think this one will have you spooked for days (or weeks) to come.
In the Fallout series, nuclear war has wiped out civilization, leaving behind no trace of ordinary life. On the surface, you’ll find mutated creatures and animals wandering The Wasteland, a desolate and hazardous wasteland. Those who managed to survive hid in underground shelters called Vaults, where their descendants have lived for generations.
As stated in a Universal press announcement, our adventure initiates “deep within Vault 33, where participants accompany vault-inhabitant Lucy MacLean in her escape from a brutal massacre, eventually uncovering a sinister hidden truth. Upon surfacing, explorers find themselves dodging assaults from Scavengers and Raiders – desperate survivors who will go to any length to stay alive – as well as mutated insects known as RAD Roaches.
To put it simply, you’re in for some really unusual situations. If the thought of visiting a crumbling Super Duper Mart doesn’t make your skin crawl, then brace yourself for an encounter with The Ghoul, a bounty hunter who has become ageless due to excessive radiation exposure.
Five Nights at Freddy’s – Haunted House

This Halloween season, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria is set to unveil a chilling residence where Chica, Bonnie, and the rest of the Five Nights at Freddy’s crew will dwell. Fans will have an exclusive opportunity to encounter their beloved malevolent characters more intimately than ever before.
As per the recent announcement about X, the popular franchise Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNAF) is expected to be showcased in an entirely fresh format during Halloween Horror Nights. We can hardly contain our excitement as we ponder over how characters like Freddy Fazbear and their companions will redefine our experiences, given the upcoming release of a new Five Nights at Freddy’s movie on December 5.
In the scorching summer of 2014, Scott Cawthon’s survival game titled “Five Nights at Freddy’s” was unveiled, quickly captivating a youthful audience who’ve been nurtured by this series. Over the ensuing years, FNAF has branched out into numerous video game sequels, spinoffs, literature, and merchandise. In 2023, the haunting animatronics from the game made their way to the silver screen in a live-action film by Universal and Blumhouse Productions. For the sequel, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, original stars Josh Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard will reprise their roles.
More specifics about the spooky mansion aren’t available just yet, but keep an eye on this spot for any new information.
El Artista – Haunted House

In a rural house secluded from civilization, it’s well-known that things can take a sinister turn. Universal’s latest haunted house offers a fresh twist on the frightening theme with El Artista, the tale of a tormented Spanish artist whose artwork and life become lethally surreal. The synopsis for this Spanish-set chilling experience goes as follows: “In 19th century Spain, a tormented artist relocates to a secluded countryside manor in search of inspiration, only to find that his art comes alive and takes control of him.
Hachett & Chains: Demon Bounty Hunters – Haunted House

If you’re a fan of the Wild West and enjoy a dose of old-time chaos, Hatchet & Chains at HHN is just what you need! This thrilling experience brings demons to life through an ancient well, drawing inspiration from last year’s Slaughter Sinema 2, which cleverly parodied B horror movies with a terrifying twist. Hatchet & Chains takes cues from classic spaghetti Westerns, crafting a chilling scenario that seems like it was plucked straight from our darkest dreams.
In this classic Wild West setting, chaos reigns as hordes of fiery, demonic creatures emerge from Hell’s Well, intent on taking over everyone and everything they encounter by turning it to molten ruin. As you frantically dash from the post office to the bank, then on to the prison and finally the cemetery, your only lifeline may be Hatchet and Chains, armed with an arsenal of mystical weapons, according to Universal’s official description.
Dolls: Let’s Play Dead – Haunted House

For those who love the thrill of the chilling, there are haunted houses and scary zones to explore, yet for some, it’s the eerie, possessed dolls that truly satisfy an unusual longing. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on your feelings towards creepy dolls), Universal has introduced Dolls: Let Us Play Dead – a nightmare of childhood brought to frightening reality.
You’re going to shrink to doll size, and then you’ll find yourself pursued by toys that have been distorted and sewn together by a warped little girl. Once you take refuge under her bed, more toys she has made will stalk you. Your journey ends in her eerie Victorian-style dollhouse, where terrifying undead creatures await you.
With its chilling horror doll series such as Chucky and M3GAN, it’s not surprising that Universal plans to build a whole haunted house around spooky playthings. We can hardly contain our excitement to discover the peculiar characters that might emerge.
Grave of Flesh – Haunted House

At any typical cemetery, spirits may linger, but the Grave of Flesh Haunted House offers a unique twist. Rather than specters rising from their graves, you’ll venture beneath the earth and explore a realm that mirrors the underworld, overseen by mischievous ghouls.
Welcome to your funeral” reads the description on the official Instagram account of Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando. Here, things are set to escalate from bad to worse. You’ll descend into your own grave and then venture into the underworld, where relentless flesh-eaters who feast on the deceased will pursue you for an eternity.
Cemeteries, carrion eaters, mourning ceremonies, and nowhere to hide – it appears to encompass everything necessary for an eerie and heart-stopping encounter.
Halloween Horror Nights is an exclusive event held at both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Orlando. To discover when this spooky event takes place or to purchase tickets, visit their official website for more information.
