Kit Harington Transformed into Black Knight in Epic Marvel Fan Art

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is renowned for its continuous growth, with movies and shows appearing in theaters and on Disney+. Fans who have followed the Marvel films chronologically will recognize some challenges that have surfaced since Avengers: Endgame, such as the release of films like Eternals. Although a sequel may not be forthcoming, fan art enabled Kit Harington to assume the role of Black Knight for the first time.

The ending of Eternals was a huge cliffhanger, one that hasn’t really been addressed in the years that past. After the titular team was taken into space the Eternals credits scene showed Harington’s Dane Whitman debating whether or not to use the Ebony Blade. It’s unclear if we’ll ever see that story continue, but Instagram fan art showed what he might look like as Black Knight. Check it out below:

I must say, that’s quite intriguing! It’s fascinating to imagine how Kit Harington’s appearance might have fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the Black Knight. Though it seems “Eternals” won’t be getting a sequel, I can only hope that the creative minds behind these productions consider reintroducing his character someday. Just take a look at this design! It’s truly captivating.

On Disney+, you can now stream Eternals along with the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe! The new ad-supported plan starts at just $9.99 per month. For an ad-free experience, choose the $15.99 monthly plan or save 16% by paying $159.99 upfront for a year’s subscription. Check it out now and enjoy the magic! (View Deal)

After completing his role as Jon Snow on Game of Thrones (available on Max), Richard Madden quickly landed the part in Eternals. Given his immense popularity, it was logical for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to secure him for a character. Although he didn’t use the Ebony Blade in the initial film, it’s clear that the actor possesses a wealth of experience in sword-fighting roles.

Because the Jon Snow spinoff series was not renewed by HBO, Kit Harington’s calendar likely has more flexibility for a comeback to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, so far, there’s no hint that those storyline elements will be developed in any upcoming MCU films.

In Captain America: Brave New World, we find a connection to the Eternals storyline. It turns out that the remnants of Tiamut, which brought about Adamantium to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, were alluded to. This metal is well-known among comic enthusiasts as the material used in Wolverine’s skeleton and claws. For years, fans have been curious about the partially-formed Celestial that appeared in the ocean, a mystery that will likely fuel an arms race in Captain America 4.

The film Eternals had plenty of setup work, including Kit Harington’s well-known credits scene where Mahershala Ali as Blade made an appearance in a later sequence. If his standalone movie ever materializes within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), this could potentially provide a way for Harington to rejoin the MCU.

As a fan following along, “Eternals” can be found streaming on Disney+, while “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” marks the next Marvel film to grace theaters, set to debut on July 25th in the 2025 movie lineup.
