puzzle trilogy follows Holly as she continues to investigate Charles Laudius’ cult and her connection to it, along with that of her two sisters. With no leads left to follow up at the abandoned asylum, you’ll begin this leg of the adventure by exploring the triplets’ old school.

As a captivated investigator, the haunting, decaying academic ambiance sends shivers down my spine as I delve deeper into the mystery. I gather scraps of notes and letters in my journal as I traverse this place, providing me with an intimate look into the lives of those entangled in the plot – characters like the enigmatic cult leader Charles Laudius, his devoted followers, and the once-revered head custodian of the school.

As a gamer, I’ve found myself frequently grappling with the conundrum that many point-and-click adventures present – striking the perfect balance between engaging storytelling and brain-teasing puzzles. All too often, these games fall short in this aspect. But True Fear 3 has managed to pull it off masterfully, immersing me in a gripping narrative while keeping my mind sharp with an abundance of intriguing puzzles that keep me hooked!

True Fear 3 Immerses You with Creepy Cutscenes

The cutscenes you’ll encounter throughout your adventure add to the macabre vibe and keep you engaged in the narrative. While the cutscene graphics aren’t anything to write home about, they are pretty decent for a mobile point-and-click adventure. Besides, there’s just something inherently spooky about 90s-style low-poly 3D graphics.

Primarily, you’ll find yourself navigating the screen, gathering items, and solving puzzles. Although it may seem straightforward, you’ll consistently encounter a variety of challenges that will challenge your creative thinking skills.

In True Fear 3, they effectively maintain novelty by presenting unique areas to explore and incorporating snapshots of the past for gameplay. During these flashback sequences, the environment and items within appear more vibrant. Unlike regular gameplay where you can switch between puzzles, you must finish a flashback in its entirety at once. Beyond enhancing mystery, these flashbacks breathe life into the backstory.

True Fear 3 Lets You Choose Your Challenge Level

Throughout your adventure, you’ll come across
challenging puzzles
that require you to think outside the box. From rotating blocks to form a path for a power source to organizing chains so that none intersect, there’s no shortage of head-scratchers here.
Luckily, Digital Longue allows you to complete any of these puzzles in one of three modes: casual, advanced or expert. You can change the difficulty level each time you enter one of these challenges, so you’re not stuck with one mode throughout. Casual mode is great if you’re having trouble, while expert mode really ramps up the difficulty.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but praise True Fear: Forsaken Souls 3 as a mesmerizing culmination of a chilling horror saga. The game’s ominous and spine-tingling ambiance will keep you on the tip of your seat, navigating through its enigmatic pathways. Moreover, the option to adjust the complexity level of the intricate puzzles is a much-appreciated feature that adds a sense of relief.
