Scenario: The narrative of Black Wake unfolds as a mysterious virus sweeps across the globe. Dr. Luiza Moreira (Gouvea), a key figure, collaborates with American intelligence agencies to decipher the situation. I’m convinced there’s something emerging from the waters, and I need my teammates to understand the danger at hand. Unfortunately, it seems to be propagating rapidly, so we need to locate its origin in order to find a solution and put a stop to it.
Verdict on Black Wake
In a chilling horror-thriller titled Black Wake, the narrative revolves around a diligent scientist investigating a lethal outbreak. Yet, it becomes increasingly clear that the authorities are withholding crucial information, which ultimately leads our protagonist to unravel under the weight of unveiled secrets and hidden stories.
In this sci-fi action thriller, an enigma invades, spreading gradually across the storyline. It employs a strategy similar to World War Z’s book concept, using brief sequences and distinct chapters to portray the progression of the mystery rather than focusing solely on escape. Yet, despite its intriguing premise, it fails to leave as lasting an impression as expected. The film balances between holding back crucial details about the ongoing events and revealing a massive, ominous threat. Unfortunately, the performances in the movie lack authenticity throughout.
