Big Brother Fans Furious as Live Feeds Delayed—You Won’t Believe What We’ll Miss!

The highly anticipated premiere of Season 27 for the reality show “Big Brother” is just around the corner, meaning fans like me will soon be making use of their Paramount+ subscriptions more than any other time during the year. As a long-standing fan of the series, I eagerly look forward to the live feeds that have been available for decades, allowing the most dedicated viewers to watch intently and share insights on moments CBS’ broadcasts may miss or choose not to show. However, this season, Paramount+ is altering its live feed setup, and I’m taken aback by how late they’ve decided to start.

Together with well-known former “Big Brother” housemates like Cory Wurtenberger, I have urged CBS to reintroduce the live move-in, or at minimum, bring back the live streams on the premiere night. Regrettably, this won’t occur in Season 27, and I am astonished by how late the feeds are commencing, a delay that has left me even more perplexed than the addition of another enigmatic housemate for several reasons.

Big Brother 27 Is Likely Not Starting Live Feeds Until After The Veto Competition

Instead of starting with full-length episodes right away and sticking to that format throughout the season as Big Brother initially planned, it appears CBS has decided to allocate more time due to information shared by BB insider Sharon Tharp regarding the delayed start times for the live feeds during Season 27.

In a typical season of Big Brother, the Head of Household (HOH) competition occurs every Thursday night, followed by nominations on Friday and the Power of Veto (PoV) competition on Saturday. This year, it seems that the live feeds for the Season 27 housemates might not start until Sunday evening, which could be after all the conversations about who will be evicted have already transpired.

In a normal Big Brother season, this is how things typically unfold. However, there might be some slight modifications during the first week of the competition, which could explain why live feeds started late. But if on Thursday’s premiere it appears that everything is as usual, I’ll be quite frustrated.

Beyond Gameplay, The First Week Of Feeds Is So Critical For Context

Delaying watching the live feeds means missing out on a significant amount of work required by viewers to grasp alliance structures. In the initial nights, Houseguests typically create alliances, display early tensions among players, and we witness the impact of the first Head of Household’s rule on others in the game. These events establish the season’s tone, and it’s unfortunate that we won’t get to experience them raw.

In the early stages of play, some significant events would have gone unnoticed if revisited, such as Frenchie’s tumultuous rule as Head of Household in Season 23, the root cause of Paloma Aguilar and Taylor Hale’s conflict in Season 24, and Luke Valentine being expelled from the game just two days after it commenced.

These are crucial events from the recent seasons that have me worried we might enter “Big Brother” Season 27 a bit late. But who knows, things could work out perfectly fine, and I’m among many fans of the show feeling apprehensive about this season matching up to its predecessors. Ultimately, only time will tell how it unfolds and affects the season as a whole.

The 27th season of Big Brother will start on Thursday, July 10th at 8:00 p.m. ET, lasting for 90 minutes. Even though we won’t have the live feeds until Sunday night following its broadcast on the West Coast, I’ll be eagerly awaiting the initial moments of raw and untouched footage, just like countless others!
