In keeping with these authentic struggles, it also introduced realistic colossal robots.

Over time, a more formidable Gundam gradually made its presence felt across the universe. Through the years, mechas have been endowed with increasingly outlandish abilities. These colossal machines appear to be engineered primarily to surpass the power of the last mobile suit. For instance, the G-QuuuuuuX and the G-Self are no exception; they exhibit strength comparable to some of the most powerful mobile suits in the entire Gundam universe. In light of this, I’ve made updates to include even more of the most powerful mobile suits.

Main Pilot: Amuro Ray

If Mobile Suit Gundam hadn’t graced our screens back in 1979, I genuinely believe my love for mecha anime would have taken a completely different path. For years, Super Robots had been the norm, but this show redefined the genre for me. It introduced a world filled with more authentic robots and weapons, setting it apart from earlier mecha series. A significant factor in achieving this was the RX-78-2 Gundam – a machine that raised the bar for realistic robot design.

Although the RX-78 is quite old, being from the 80s, it has power that can match a contemporary Gundam. Apart from the Vulcan Gun, Beam Rifle, and Saber, it also boasts traditional weapons such as a mace and rocket launcher. This mobile suit served as inspiration for many later “main” Gundams, even if not the most powerful, it’s certainly the most iconic.

In the thrilling realm of amphibious mecha, I can’t help but be captivated by the intriguing design of the MSM-08! Unlike other Gundams, this beauty has a unique charm that sets it apart. Making its debut early in the Universal Century timeline, the Zogok prototype was no stranger to conflict, particularly during the invasion of Earth’s Federation headquarters hidden beneath the Amazon River. With such an operation, it was only natural that this mechanical marvel would need water-assisting weapons to navigate and conquer!

One key feature of Zogok is the Extendable Arm, enabling it to participate in tight-space battles with other Gundams. Additionally, it equips a dozen boomerang-style cutting weapons, which could possibly propel themselves due to its usual underwater environment.

In some anime series based on the Universal Century’s One Year War, not all mobile suits operate at full capacity throughout the entire show. In the anime series Mobile Suit Gundam MS IGLOO, we were introduced to the Zudah for the first time. Anaheim Electronics took it a step further by incorporating the original Psycho-Frame into this design, making Char an even greater threat on the battlefield than before.

The Sazabi derives its strength from six fin funnels, which are typically housed within its backpack, but can be deployed and managed mentally, significantly boosting the pilot’s offensive capabilities. Its primary weapon is a mega-particle cannon, so energy-intensive it’s linked directly to the Sazabi itself. Despite being outclassed by Amuro’s NewType skills, Char was still able to hold his own in combat with this formidable machine.

Main Pilot: Cronicle Asher

Towards the finale of “Victory Gundam”, Cronicle Asher utilized the enhanced capabilities of his upgraded Rig Contio to engage in combat with Uso Evin and his V2 Gundam. Equipped with the Rig Contio, Chronicle was capable of engaging not only the V2, but also other mobile suits. The variable beam launcher of the suit allowed it to inflict damage directly on a battleship without needing any additional weaponry.

Unlike most Gundam mobile suits, the Epyon emphasizes speed and close-quarter battles over long-range firepower. Its primary weapon is a heat rod, a whip capable of destroying multiple mobile suits with a single strike. Some viewers find Gundam Wing particularly captivating, and revisiting it is almost a necessity to appreciate this suit again. On the other hand, many believe that the movie sequel to the series, specifically the one you mentioned, stands out as the best in the franchise.
