Spider-Man & Kraven Team Up! (But Not How You Think)

Sony’s character, Kraven the Hunter, has at last collaborated with Marvel Studios – but not for a big-screen appearance.

On July 6th, a photo shared by Film Crave revealed that Kraven the Hunter’s actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson met up with Marvel’s Spider-Man, Tom Holland, during the Silverstone Grand Prix. In the image, they exchange greetings while spectators bustle around them in the background. The race eventually ended with Lando Norris claiming victory for McLaren.

Last December, the film, featuring Taron Egerton as Kraven, made its explosive entry into cinemas. Instead of portraying him as a merciless poacher as seen in Marvel Comics, Kraven was presented more as a conservationist hunter. The main cast of Kraven the Hunter also included Ariana DeBose as Calypso Ezili, the Voodoo priestess; Fred Hechinger as Dmitri Kravinoff, better known as the Chameleon; Alessandro Nivola as Aleksei Sytsevich, or the Rhino; Christopher Abbott as the Foreigner; and Russell Crowe playing both Kraven and his drug lord father, Nikolai Kravinoff.

When Kraven the Hunter debuted in cinemas, it received a dismal “Fresh” rating of merely 15% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 158 professional critic assessments. Contrastingly, audiences were more lenient towards the movie, with its “Popcornmeter” score reaching an astonishingly high 72% approval rating from over 2,500 user reviews.

What’s Next for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in the MCU?

Ever since the unveiling of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” back in 2021, I’ve been as excited as any fellow fan about the next installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man series. Although production on the fourth MCU Spider-Man film hasn’t started yet, Tom Holland has reassured us that things are progressing positively. Just recently, he updated us, saying, “It requires some tweaking, but the writers are doing a fantastic job.” He even shared an exciting moment, revealing, “I read it three weeks ago and it ignited my passion. Zendaya and I sat down, read it together, and at times we were jumping around the living room.
