Crypto Rover, a notable figure in the digital asset world, announced a generous giveaway of $1,000 in Ethereum (ETH) on an X post dated Sunday, July 20, just as the leading altcoin soared past the $3,750 threshold. 🚀
ETH had climbed 3.5%, trading near the $3,800 mark, with its market cap crossing the $450 billion barrier. A moment of triumph, one might think, but little did Crypto Rover know what was to come.
The mood shifted abruptly when Grok, the AI integrated into X, began to expose a pump-and-dump scheme that Crypto Rover had allegedly promoted back in May 2023. 🕵️♂️
So Crypto Rover tagged Grok to select a winner for a giveaway and it began replying about his involvement in pump and dump schemes and sketchy promotions and is refusing to select a winner.

The incriminating replies, captured in screenshots by ZachXBT, have since been deleted from Crypto Rover’s X post. However, the damage was done. Grok, in its now-erased responses, pointed directly to ZachXBT’s investigation and the allegations against Crypto Rover. To those eagerly awaiting their chance at the giveaway, Grok sternly declared, “I will abstain from selecting a winner to avoid endorsing potential risks.” 🙅♂️
ZachXBT further fueled the fire by revisiting his investigation from the previous year, which uncovered Crypto Rover’s involvement in the STONED token dump. For his promotional efforts, ZachXBT received a handsome $10,000 and 1% of the token supply. However, Crypto Rover vanished into the night, selling off his tokens despite a promise to hold them “throughout the next bull run.” 🦔
