A Group Of ET Ride Superfans Played An Amazing Prank During A Recent Universal Orlando Trip, And There's A Viral TikTok

As a long-time Universal Studios Florida enthusiast who has been on more rides than I can count, let me tell you this: E.T. Adventure is a timeless classic that continues to delight and amuse visitors of all ages. While it may show its age compared to some of the newer attractions, it’s the quirky charm and personal touch that keep me coming back for more.

In recent years, Universal Orlando Resort has been excelling with its latest attractions, introducing two stunning thrill rides like Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure and Jurassic World Velocicoaster, as well as a significant upgrade to the kids’ area at Universal Studios Florida through the addition of DreamWorks land. However, a recent viral TikTok video reminds us that sometimes, the original rides hold the most charm.

Among all the attractions that have been at Universal Studios Florida since its opening, E.T. Adventure remains a fan favorite and is often ranked among the top rides at the park. Although the attraction may appear dated now, it was cutting-edge technology back then. Notably, it allows E.T. to communicate directly with you, making for a funny experience if handled correctly, as a recent viral TikTok demonstrates. Take a look.

As I stand in line for the E.T. Adventure, I’m prompted to share my name, and towards the climax of the ride, E.T. calls out to me by the name I provided. It’s intended to be a heartfelt and memorable moment, but it turns into a chuckle-worthy spectacle when a group of us decide to all introduce ourselves as “Chuck.” This prank results in E.T.’s voice sounding like it’s stuck on repeat, making it clear that these guys have experienced this ride more than once!

As someone who grew up visiting theme parks and cherishing the unique, magical experiences they offered, it’s truly disheartening to see many of those classic moments slipping away due to technological advancement. In my younger days, I remember waiting in line for hours just to ride an attraction that felt personalized and special. However, times have changed, and theme parks have moved on to other, arguably more impressive ways to customize the guest experience. While these new technologies offer exciting possibilities, there’s a certain nostalgic charm to those moments that can never be recaptured once they’ve been lost to progress.

The classic E.T. Adventure dark ride appears to be growing older, causing concern among fans who worry it might be phased out soon in favor of something more modern and gleaming. Each time it undergoes maintenance, there’s a sense that this could be its last appearance, yet against all odds, the E.T. Adventure has persisted.

E.T., the classic ride, continues to captivate audiences due to its enduring appeal. Despite being an old attraction, it remains highly impressive given the context. It’s one of the longest dark rides I’ve experienced, stretching nearly twice the usual length. Essentially, it offers two dark ride experiences in one. The initial portion immerses you in a tale inspired by the popular movie, as you glide above the ground alongside E.T. Later, you get a peek into E.T.’s homeworld, a place never before depicted in the film.

1. “E.T.” plays a significant role in two fresh additions at Universal Studios Florida: its music is featured in the spectacular Cinesational Symphony, and there’s an E.T. float in the new Mega Movie Parade. It seems that these nostalgic elements hint that this ride might still have more to offer.

Enthusiasts of Universal Orlando Resort are undoubtedly excited about the upcoming Epic Universe park. This will be a brand-new entry point brimming with state-of-the-art attractions, promising an extraordinary experience. However, let’s not forget that there’s still plenty of enjoyable fun to discover in the older rides – they’re definitely worth exploring!
