A Kind of Guise Keeps It Classy for AW24

As a seasoned gamer who’s been through countless virtual winter landscapes, I can confidently say that A Kind of Guise‘s latest winter collection is a real-life adventure worth embarking on. The Munich-based label has masterfully transported me to the heart of Peru, not with a joystick, but with their impeccable craftsmanship and captivating storytelling.

Under the German brand A Kind of Guise (AKOG), a delightful assortment of winter pieces has been unveiled. This latest collection draws inspiration from Peru, the most recent focus for this Munich-based label in terms of narrative and traditional handiwork.

Several crowd favorites have returned, namely the knee-length Deniro Coat — which like the famed actor it’s named after, is an elegant statement piece made with a boiled baby alpaca and wool blend bouclé from Peru, along with a loose belt at the waist for a custom fit. Also returning is the Marani Overshirt, crafted in Harris Tweed wool from Great Britain, as well as the Samurai Pants in a blue moon corduroy.

The Arequipa Coat, one of the highlights in this collection, boasts a fresh design and stands out notably. Made from premium German lambskin, it offers a plush wool interior, a stylish nappa exterior, and an over-sized collar for added flair. For those cold months needing extra coziness, opt for the Puno Puffer Coat, which is constructed in an eco-friendly manner using third-generation fabric from one of Italy’s greenest mills. This water-repellent, PFC-free coat comes in pickle green and deep night hues, featuring a two-way zipper and filled with 90% recycled post-consumer down and 10% feathers for added insulation.

In great detail, AKOG’s newest items boast labels from their regional fabric sources and various accessories. Among these new additions is a Daavuu Scarf crafted from silk and cashmere in an anthracite melange-bordeaux pattern, as well as another version featuring a beige melange-yellow design.
