As a seasoned gamer and Netflix enthusiast with over two decades of binge-watching under my belt, I can say that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II‘s injury on set of Man on Fire has been a bit of a speed bump, but nothing that a quick healing hand can’t handle.

Recently, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has been quite occupied. Known for his A-list status, he’s been immersed in a project destined for Netflix subscribers. He stars as the lead in Man on Fire, a TV series based on two suspenseful novels by A.J. Quinnell, one of which served as the basis for Denzel Washington’s 2004 movie with the same title. Although production on this show has seemed to be progressing smoothly according to public knowledge, it’s now been disclosed that Abdul-Mateen sustained an injury on set. Here are some updates regarding his condition.

It appears that the actor who plays Aquaman suffered an injury to his hand during filming of the Netflix series in Mexico, as reported by Deadline. The injury is said to be minor but it led to a brief pause in production. Fortunately, the main star, who also serves as an executive producer on the show, is expected to resume work before the end of shooting which is scheduled for December 20th. However, no specific return date has been provided yet by the source. At present, Netflix has not issued any statement regarding this matter.

It’s been observed that the shooting schedule for the show had to be altered because Yahya Abdul-Mateen II was injured. Consequently, the team will try to push forward with their work while he’s recuperating. Fortunately, it seems like Abdul-Mateen II’s injury isn’t too serious and he should be back on set soon. Here’s hoping he recovers quickly and feels well enough to resume filming when the time comes.

As of now, we don’t know when “Man on Fire” will be broadcasted, so we’ll have to wait and see if it makes it onto the 2025 TV lineup. But if you’re keen on watching it alongside top-notch shows on Netflix, then you might want to consider subscribing.
