42 years of gaming, and I’ve seen countless iterations of virtual sneakers come and go. But the real-life Nike Air Force 1, still stands tall among them all. With its rich history and endless colorways, it’s like a classic RPG character that just keeps leveling up.
42 years on, the Nike Air Force 1 remains one of Nike’s most enduring lifestyle shoe designs. Over its long history, Nike (the Swoosh) has given this iconic sneaker numerous color variations and updates, including waterproof versions and collaborative projects like the one with L’Art de L’Automobile. Now, according to a report from Sneaker Files, here’s what we might see from the Air Force 1 in 2025.
Following the appearance of a pair of Air Force 1s designed by Nike SB in June, there’s been talk about the potential release of the skate-focused Air Force 1 SK8. Unlike traditional Nike SB shoes, this model is said to be designed for skateboarding, with modifications that enhance its functionality. However, it will not officially belong to the Nike SB line. Some reported features include a padded tongue, larger laces, a colored outsole, and a nubuck overlay at the toe and heel for durability. The three colors rumored to be available are “Stadium Green,” “Psychic Blue,” and a versatile combination of “White/Black.
As I’m typing this, Nike hasn’t disclosed the Air Force 1 SK8 yet. Keep an eye out for news, such as the reveal of its new design, because it’s anticipated to be released next summer through Nike SNKRS and certain retailers. The adult size will retail at $120 USD, while the grade school sizes will cost $100 USD.
